I had a horrible experience at this place. I do not recommend you spend your money in such a hateful place. The bartender (a young(ish) kinda tall black guy) was a complete j*** to me and my friend for no reason. For example, I asked him for a recommendation on a drink - he replied, "read the menu". Then when I asked for a gin and tonic he scoffed and acted as if I made a ridiculous request by ordering a drink. Then when we decided we had enough of this treatment and decided to go somewhere else, he immediately turned hostile. He became huffy and said, "if you're not going to drink you need to get up and move away from my bar". We were packing up anyway, so this confrontation was completely unnecessary. Plus he wasn't treating anyone else at the bar that way. I'm not sure what we did (besides sit down) to get that treatment. I will NEVER return to this place. The bartender has a major chip on his shoulder and acted like a complete a*** There's no way I'll spend my money at a place where this type of treatment is ok - neither should you.

One of the last places we visited during our stay in D.C., Wisdom offered perhaps the most profound moment for me. Between the super chill vibe, friendly but not overbearing staff, and fantastic gin drinks, our chaotic weekend was punctuated with a unique sense of timelessness. Had I spent minutes or hours in that moment, listening to some soothing jazz, sipping my martini, just taking it all in - it wouldn't have made a difference. I love chasing those feelings, and I'll spread the good word of Wisdom to any and all willing to hear it.
