This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially for Valentine's Day. We were ignored upon entering the restaurant and then rudely greeted by a hostess after standing several minutes. After waiting in the lobby an additional 20 minutes past our reservation time, we were escorted into a cold room to a table complete with old beer bottle caps on the ground underneath it. The portions were embarrassingly tiny and the food truly lacked any noticeable flavor, bordering on Sysco-derived blandness. The wine pours were stunningly small and the beef wellington, despite being the lone dish generously portioned, was inedible. The waiters did make a valiant effort, which we appreciated, but were clearly understaffed as we went without water refills for most of the three-hour experience. Dessert was also strange as several patrons were offered coffee and tea whereas the guests on our side of the room did not receive this offering. It's very difficult to imagine how this establishment earned a Michelin star.
I went here alone and had the winter tasting menu along with the “standard” wine pairing. The food was absolutely delicious, and the wine pairings were really exquisite with some unique Spanish selections I've never seen. The service was down-to-earth and friendly, the atmosphere nice but unpretentious, and I really appreciated that the chef came out to greet and chat with guests multiple times and even serve some of the courses. The experience ends with a drink and sweets on the mezzanine level. It's a Michelin-star experience that feels welcoming and personalized, and the attention from the chef, sommelier, and staff to each guest's experience felt very welcoming. The wine pairing is certainly not cheap, but it is one of the more unique and memorable wine pairings that I have experienced.
What a fantastic evening! The hits never stopped from the beginning to the end. Such attention to detail with each dish. The Iberic Wellington is something I will not soon forget. Also very much enjoyed the wine pairing and thoughtful notes on each pour. Thank you for a lovely night, Chef Danny!!
The food was very nice. The portions were extremely small, even for a Michelin star restaurant, and considering the price point for the both tasting menu and the wine pairing (with barely two sips per wine), it was absolutely not worth it.

So here’s the deal… this place is too bougie for its own good. The food just is so damn complicated and I have ate at a lot of really high end places. There is a point in time where the food is so complex it ruins the experience. You have no choices of what you want and it is very easy to run a 2k tab without trying hard. The service and people were awesome tho.
TLDR; service is amazing but the food is just not there especially for the multi-thousand dollar bill you are going to run up

Xiquet was, once again, an incredible dining experience. I always look forward to the amazing paella, impeccable service, and great wine list. Looking forward to the next visit!
An Exceptional Evening at Xiquet The recent chef collaboration between Xiquet and Matsu's Chef Eick made for a truly memorable dining experience. Having both chefs personally serve their dishes elevated the evening into something special. Chef Danny's Wellington was executed beautifully, while Chef Eick's duck proved equally impressive—two distinct culinary perspectives complementing each other throughout the meal. There's something genuinely exciting about watching chefs step out of the kitchen to present their work directly to guests. I'm already looking forward to returning for the February collaboration, and I'm curious to explore Taller, their other concept, as well. Xiquet has earned a spot on my regular rotation.
First, the food is fantastic, hard stop. Fantastic flavors, beautiful presentation, and great textures. The service was great. And I appreciated the venue change for the desserts, which was very unique.
I've been to many Michelin star restaurants around the globe, and this one is certainly deserving of its honor.
The only gripe I had was the value. For the price paid, the quantity of the food was on the lower end, and the wine pairing was really over priced based on the quantity you get when compared to other Michelin starred restaurants.
But that said, the food quality is fantastic.

Took the wife for the New Years Eve experience at Xiquet. Absolutely amazing. Incredible ingredients prepared by incredible skill creates incredible flavors. All the dishes where great, but that Wellington was over the top exceptional! Chef Danny definitely deserves all the accolades. Wine pairing with the dishes were excellent as well. Highly recommend.

This was the most expensive meal I've had in the DC area, and that was the most memorable thing about it. My expectations were admittedly high going in, and it fell short in every way. We sat at our table for 25 minutes before even getting water, despite two servers coming to our table with the wine list. Not only were the portions minuscule, the dishes were underwhelming. The seafood dishes were overly fishy, the paella just tasted like rice cooked in broth, and the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. We opted for the wine pairing and, while the wine was good, the portions were skimpy so we could barely enjoy more than a few sips of most pours. Overhyped and overpriced, will not be returning or recommending.
Absolutely outstanding meal. Beautiful start with seafood courses, culminating in a deep rich and earthy paella topped with lobster and caviar. Stellar partridge followed by a sumptuous pork Wellington. Orange themed deserts were a light and satisfying finish. Well, before we were guided to the living room for a few more sweet treats and tea. The service was lovely, attentive and warm. A perfect evening, bringing a bit of Spain to DC.
One of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I’ve had

Was recently dining at Xiquet for my birthday. The staff and service were outstanding. I can not imaging better service. All of the dishes were fresh, very tasty and very creatively composed of uniquely complementary ingredients. Serving are small but exquisite.
