In a world of franchises and fast food, the fact that Yala is an artisanal ice-cream parlor makes it special. The staff are professional, kind, and there is a wide variety of flavors. Highly recommend Yala to anyone who appreciates good ice-cream and amazing service.
This is the best ice cream I have had on the east coast. It’s a lovely place. It is worth the visit!!
The flavors are very strong. I enjoyed the two that I had but disliked the two that my husband picked. Not a problem, but do try first to avoid surprises (trying is free). The texture is very creamy, quite high in fat so my stomach had light reflux... the small serving is too expensive but the medium size is about ok, so we end up eating more than we should. Next time I'd do a large one for two people instead of one medium each.
Incredible ice cream and you can truly taste the quality of ingredients used. The team here was so welcoming. Best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever had!
Have I’ve been transported to Santorini?
Ingredients used in the ice cream are sourced from Greece and are beautifully blended together to create flavors that can only be found in the Mediterranean.
For my cup of deliciousness, I got a scoop of Mornings with Thea which is made with greek yogurt and mixed with orange preserves.
No matter where I go I have to get the pistachio ice cream. And the Pistachio Odyssey at this shop is top tier. So good!
Even though parking is a little bit of a nightmare in Georgetown, I definitely can see myself making this Greek excursion a priority whenever I’m in the area.
I got the caramel and vanilla and my partner got the orange greek yogurt and a flavor of the day which was apricot Greek yogurt and they were amazing! Cashier was very friendly and the store is really cute
Small ice cream shop, no inside seating, just a take out place but their ice cream is so good! Definitely try their greek yogurt flavors, if you like greek yogurt. Staff is very friendly, shop is cute, and it’s in a nice location in Georgetown.
The owner was there. Super nice guy and the ice cream I had, which was made with Greek yogurt, was awesome!! The next time I'm in Georgetown (DC) I will be sure to stop by!!
Delish! Not overwhelming with the sweetness. Not sure why someone said they paid $36 for 2 ice creams when the most expensive option is only $9.75- worth it in my opinion!
Delicious flavors and super friendly staff!

Some pretty good ice cream, Yala has which is cool. The staff at Yala is very friendly and welcoming. Yala is very small and doesn't have seating inside so be prepared for take out, there are some small tables outside.
Obsessed is an understatement! We drive all the way from Fairfax to get our Greek ice cream fix. Since discovering this place I look for any excuse to have a date night in Georgetown to get this absolute delight. I’ve learned my lesson and buy a cup to enjoy in real time and a pint to hold me over until the next visit. Mornings with Thea is just chef’s kiss. It’s creamy, refreshing and perfectly balanced sweetness makes it my undefeated go to. My husband gets the pistachio which is also delicious. 10 stars!
Excellent. Delicious!!
Delicious ice cream and a lovely staff! This is for sure my new favorite dessert spot in Georgetown
Amazing!
