I had a chicken shawarma pita sandwich today. The shawarma marinade was flavorful, but the tahini sauce was underwhelming. Additionally, Mediterranean/Middle Eastern spots are known for their generous portions, but this one was disappointing in that regard. Unfortunately, it didn’t feel worth the price.

Shawarmas are not authentic middle eastern. One bite and you’ll realize that the whole thing is a mistake.

I ordered delivery and was ultra disappointed in this. The bowls were primarily rice, they forgot sauce on our bowls, and overall just completely underwhelming.
We recently went to DC and decided to try this mediterranean restaurant. We had a couple of wraps and a platter. The chicken shawarma wrap was quite good, and the shish tawooq wrap was also decent. From the platter, fries, labneh, and hummus - all were fresh and tasty - chicken shawarma was okay, but the beef shawarma was a let down. We later came to know the platter cost 55 bucks (menu doesn’t show its price - we should’ve asked) and definitely not value for money. We didn’t have any drinks so can’t comment, but it’s recommended for a quick bite - not for the platter though.

Just disappointed. My husband and I used to love coming here and ordering the mixed platter- when we went back after not visiting for about 6 months, and it was incredibly disappointing. Yasmine kept the platter the same price while removing the lamb and the assorted pickled vegetables, and just increasing the amount of french fries. The platter used to feel like a worth-it splurge, and it now feels like a rip-off. Our waitress let us know that management is trying to cut costs— I hope the dissatisfaction and disappointment your customers feel as you try to rip them off with a worse product for the same price makes management think twice about this strategy. Not visiting again.

How can you serve an advertise “ Halal food “ and the same time you are selling alcohol please make up your mind !!!!!
Great spot for a casual dinner! Located in the heart of Union Market, Yasmine is a lively, bustling Mediterranean spot serving up delicious wraps, salads, and platters. I came by for a quick bite on Friday evening, and the Market was packed. We managed to snag a seat at the long table next to Yasmine and split their Friday special, the falafel wrap. The wrap was packed with flavor — it was a bit zingy, a bit spicy, and a bit herby. They had a delightful sauce, but the falafel itself had plenty of seasoning on its own as well. The falafel was perfectly fried, with a nice crispy shell, and it went wonderfully with the fresh, crunchy cucumbers, pickles, and cherry tomatoes.
My dining partner also tried their chicken shawarma wrap, which was also fantastic but slightly more lacking in flavor vs. the falafel wrap. It didn’t have the same sauce that the falafel version had, which made it a smidge less exciting and a tad more dry.
All in all, Yasmine is a great addition to my Union Market rotation! It has a great lively energy and solid food; I can’t wait to come back soon!

The food was fine. However, my issue is with an unauthorized charge from this restaurant. My credit card company subsequently notified me a couple days later of a suspicious charge on my card: a 70% tip at this restaurant. This restaurant arbitrarily added a $10 tip onto a $14 pickup order without my authorization. Extremely shady business practice, and I will not be returning for this reason.

Fake shawarma
First, we got the wrong shawarma. That was still ok because the chicken shawarma was tasty. But then we ordered the falafel and … if you have spent an hour and the sun and are desperately in need of salt … ok … else way, way too much salt. It wasn’t all terrible but I wouldn’t come back

Delicious food, GREAT service.
I have several dietary restrictions and the woman who took my order was very helpful, and walked me through each ingredient in the item I ordered. She asked about my trip to DC, etc., and then gave me a free lemonade while I waited. I will be eating here again when I come back!
(Photos are of: lemonade with fresh mint, hummus side plate, and the falafel wrap)

Just ordered take out from Yasmine. Ordered a fattoush with chicken, chicken shawarma sandwich, and a 3 piece falafel. First I went to pick up my order and they’d forgotten to even put in the chicken shawarma sandwich. Added that to the order (additional $19.50) and had to wait while they made that. Then I got home and the “fattoush” was literally just lightly dressed lettuce and they forgot the chicken. So $52 for lettuce, 3 pieces of falafel, and a sandwich. Sorry but GTFO here. Didn’t help that we’d just come back from a hike and I was starving. The sandwich and the falafel was for my spouse and kid so all I had was a container of lightly dressed lettuce. I basically then had to make my own lunch upon getting home. Also, I tried calling the number listed in google to explain what happened and get a refund (so I wouldn’t have to bother with this review) and the phone number DOESN'T WORK. Will not go back. Would not recommend.
