Immediately yes. I just had the best sandwich of my life there, the Chicky Pep No.2. It’s too good.

In my mind I’m goin‘ to Carolina, but in DC I’m goin‘ to Your Only Friend. When I die, bury me under the stained glass Duke‘s Mayo shrine above the bar.

This place is out of control! It’s an explosion of flavor, fun, and good southern vibes. The Cacio e Pepe fries and the accompanying dip are better than the best crack cocaine. I’ve enjoyed both the sub club and the hot nug, with a little kick that will keep you sweating but coming back for me.

I cannot recommend this place enough if you are around the Mid DC convention center district. The staff is helpful, accommodating, and the nods to North Carolina culture (AB pie, dukes mayo) make me feel like I’m right back at home.

The cocktails were so good it made me wish the food took longer to come out.

Place was busy due to an event taking place across the street at the Convention Center, but the staff were efficient, effective and very friendly.

I would return with no hesitation.

Do not get the dessert. This is a $10 slice of pie. Not sure how that is justified. Fried chicken sandwich was good.

I’m not entirely sure why this is rated so high, but I’d have to disagree. The wait time was longer than advertised, the food took longer than expected, and the sandwiches were not anything impressive (particularly for the $18 price tag). I found the bread to be cold, plain and tasteless, and I found the sandwiches to be lacking in flavor and texture, unfortunately. I had high hopes for this place as I thought cocktails and comfortable sandwiches would be a winning combination.

My friends grabbed me a sandwich to go, the Mort & Mozz sounded like it was really going to hit the spot. Sadly, it was the most anemic $20 sandwich I’ve ever seen. I know that “thin is in” again, but I’d didn’t think that trend applied to sandwiches. This was basically a sub roll filled with lettuce and hots with ONE piece of deli meat. Very disappointed.

One of my favorite spots in DC. Incredibly delicious sandwiches. Cocktails are good too. You can also get a $4 cold beer which is awesome. Beautiful stained glass ceiling. Excellent service. All around 10/10.

Awesome food, awesome drinks, awesome vibes.

Spent several hours here trying a couple sandwiches and a few drinks. My wife and I split the RPG (rotating sandwich) and the Sub Club. The RPG was amazing- they HAVE to add this to the normal menu. Sub Club was also very good, more classic sandwich.

Cocktails were all interesting and worthwhile. They do not cut corners- you’ll get a coke in a glass bottle, they make their own soda and will see them carbonating it during a Saturday afternoon to prep for the evening.

Bartenders were super friendly!

We had a wonderful time here on Sunday. I love love love a good sandwich and this did not disappoint.

The interior is cool, I loved the vibe. The cocktail was pretty good, and my husband liked his.
We had two sandwiches, an appetizer, and a cocktail each.

My only gripe is that with tip it ended up being over a $100 meal. I know everything is expensive these days, but it’s hard to justify that amount of money for a quick sandwich out, IMO. We’ll definitely go back, but I’ll be a bit more prepared for the sticker shock.

Stumbled upon this restaurant and couldn’t have been more impressed. The drinks were exceptional and pushed boundaries while remaining familiar. The food is worthy of a visit whenever I return to DC and the wings are worthy of a drive in itself. 5 stars across the board. High quality food, chill vibes, in a hidden gem worthy of more recognition.
