Always great! The food was awesome, service was great and an amazing view!
I never leave reviews but the service was horrible and the food was raw and cold! This was the second time this happened .
Looking for a place close to the Delaware Seashore State South Campground, we seen Big Chill. There is normally a parking fee, March - November, to eat here and access the beach. However, because we were camping at the state park we did not have to pay. The restaurant features casual beach fare from breakfast to dinner, full-service cocktails, wine and beer, an oyster bar and Umbrella Bar, fire pit and hang-out game area and beach amenities for the beach-goers. A small gift shop with ice cream treats is also available. We got the following meals: MOJO SHRIMP WRAP $17.95 marinated shrimp, bibb lettuce, avocado, fresh mangos, wheat tortilla, lemon SOUTH-SIDE NACHOS $15.45 house made corn chips, guacamole, queso, pico, sour cream, black beans, cilantro, pickled jalapenos Add grilled chicken: $9 Add grilled shrimp: $13 BOURBON CRUSH $11 Jim Beam Orange Bourbon, fresh squeezed oj, starry YUENGLING $6 Traditional lager Both fresh, good and nice portions. The south-side nachos are listed under appetizers, but my husband made a meal of it alone. I had the mojo shrimp wrap. I was not expecting much from these, but I was surprised. The shrimp were decent size and enough to fill the tortilla. The Bourbon crush was refreshing and tasty. As for the prices, we you are at a beach. Enjoy, relax, drink and eat. Make sure to find the beach chairs and hammocks tucked away under all the steps.
Great casual place right on the beach! Spend the day and evening on the beach! Enjoy soaking in the rays and then, without leaving the beach, enjoy spectacular casual dining (with a healthy twist!) or cocktails while continuing to overlook the beach and surf from the Big Chill deck, but also sunsets over the marsh and bay. The Island Bowl is a spectacular healthy grilled chicken bowl with red cabbage, black lentil like rice, avocado, and mango with a delicious peanut dressing. Note: parking is $10 ($5 if DE plates on vehicle) in the DE Seaside State Park parking lot right at the restaurant's entrance.
Great location. But service was not great, food was just ok for the price. Server came a round just a few times only, when trying to order more beer. Had a pink rock in my conch fritters, glad I didn’t break a tooth! And my blackened mahi was not very blackened at all compared to what 2 others in my party ordered. Beer comes in maybe 10 or 12oz glasses not the usual pint size. Meals smaller than expected for the price. Over priced food.
We've visited Big Chill a couple times in the last month. We've really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service. We were fortunate to get the same server both times at Big Chill, CLARA was fantastic each time. Clara was very attentive, knowledgeable and most of all pleasant and friendly dealing with the kids in our family and especially our special needs daughter. As for food, we've enjoyed the Conch Fritters, Burgers, Fish & Chips (two big pieces of fish) and the Chicken Nuggets. Definitely a great place to eat when you're enjoying a day at the beach.
Great setting with a fantastic view. Good staff and really good foods and drinks. Highly recommend the orange and cherry crush drinks! A pleasant surprise in the State park and right on the beach. Worth a visit for dinner or happy hour!
Served warm beer from broken tap, then bartender promised another beer from another tap which arrived after we finished our meal. We’d eaten here before and had great chicken caesar salads, but today the salad was mediocre, the dressing was awful! My $17 cheeseburger was way undercooked though I ordered it medium well, not pink and bloody. Fries were obviously cooked earlier and were stone cold. Fries were the ones you dump out of a frozen bag! Burger was preformed, really low quality meat! Never again!
This is the first time that I have eaten here, and I really enjoyed my food! I had the conch fritters for an appetizer and I had Mahi tacos and french fries, and everything was great!
Visited here for the first time today - delicious!!! Had some yummy conch fritters and a painkilla - not gonna lie, they had me at "souvenir cup". Our server was a sweet young woman named Nina - she was delightful! Go! Enjoy!

Great atmosphere and the food was wonderful but the drinks seemed a bit "flat" or watered down. You can't beat the sunset views over the bridge, though!
Good food and drinks with amazing beachfront views. Crab cake sandwich was very good. Chicken on salad was a little rubbery. But if you get a beachfront view with a breeze everything will be ok.
We dined here on a date night after wanting to visit for a while. The venue itself is as cool as it seems -- great views of the ocean (and bridge), cool outdoor activities & live music in the adjoining bar. But WOW was the food a miss -- completely flavorless. I had a lemon crush which tasted like water (not in a 'ooh, I can hardly tell there's alcohol in here!' good way, but in a completely watered down way), and both of our entrees had no flavor (the Sunset Sammy and Mojo Shrimp Wrap). The menu sounded amazing, but the delivery was way off the mark. Neither of us could finish our meals, and left with most of our food still on the plate to go grab a second dinner somewhere else. The one positive is that the queso app *did* have flavor, and was good. And we went after six, so they weren't collecting parking fees. I'm not sure if the food has always been like this, or if it's a victim of supply chain issues. But I can't in good faith recommend this restaurant for dinner, and we will not be returning. That said, if you're just looking for drinks with a cool view, this is a special location and I'm sure you'd get what you're looking for.
Decent. Good trip. Make sure you get shade for the table. Nachos lacking. Grilled fish tacos were meh. The deep fried were good. Waitress very nice.
Husband and I did a day trip and loved this place. It is at the foot of the Indian River Inlet and part of the Delaware Seashore State Park. So yes, you pay to enter and park - just like you would at the OC Inlet etc. we had appetizers and drinks upstairs at the bar. The view is phenomenal! Then we went down the wooden walkway to the beach and enjoyed people watching. The beach club has a concession stand to buy food and sodas, etc to take out on the beach if you wish. We enjoyed watching the boats going in and out of the Inlet and saw several dolphins by the stone jetty. We will definitely be back.
