My group and I have been playing Heritage Shores for some time now and have loved the course. Until today. While the staff at the course were polite, the lack of course marshals led to an unacceptable situation: members from the group behind us took it upon themselves to confront us mid-round about tees, handicaps, and pace of play. The members at this course are truly some of the most entitled folk I’ve ever met. These same members were violating cart path-only rules, driving on fairways and up to the greens with no oversight. Completely ruining our experience at this gorgeous course.

For a course charging over $100 per round, this kind of behavior—unchecked and seemingly encouraged by the absence of rangers—is a major problem. It’s condescending, unprofessional, and not something I’ve experienced anywhere else.

This was our group’s second poor experience here, and unless things change, it will likely be our last.

Heritage Shores is one of my favorites. Always in top condition, challenging course, but not a difficult course. Nice traps, great fairways and excellent greens.

Big course, lots of water. After a weeks worth of storms fairways had some very soggy spots but still held together well. Greens were soft and slow on my day (no surprise with the rain), pin placement was absolutely evil on some holes and made for challenging putts. Course was just challenging enough to keep it fun the whole round.

The 275th Supply and Service Battalion held its reunion here. The receptionist, while I did not require her services, was polite, respectful and set the stage for a positive experience. Facility was clean and the food great. All staff I came into contact with were polite and professional. Additionally, parking was plentiful and the location is easy to get to.

Went for the Veterans Day ceremony. It was beautiful and the people could not of been more friendly. I enjoyed the visit.

Playing golf is expensive in Sussex County. Heritage Shores is an excellent course west of all the beach traffic. 25 minutes from Milton, this championship track is in very good condition. There is a large housing community around the links.

Use the Golf Now app to book your tee time and save on greens fees.
