When my gf and I went it was pretty terrible. The food price was high and wasn't good at all. The steak in the salad was like leather and they didn't have Italian dressing. I found that odd. Thing is it was very new at the time and my guess is they were still working things out. It seemed like they took pride in the place and I'd bet its much better now. The ratings seem to also say that. I'll have to give them a second chance next time my gf and I are in dagsboro. All I can say right now is that from my first experience there a 3star is very generous

Interior is very nicely decorated, and my server was real friendly. I got one of those big tequila drinks with a beer stuck in it. My first choice was corona, but they were .. out of corona. Out of Corona? Yup. My second choice was Modelo, which was a fine substitute, and I enjoyed the drink. Chips and salsa: OK. I like to judge a Mexican restaurant by their chips and salsa, and la Dama did not have the super crispy, hot fresh chips and smoky, flavorful salsa that I've had at some better places. Entree: My enchiladas were the best part of the meal. I asked if they could do them with pork instead of chicken or beef, and after checking with the kitchen, they happily accommodated me. The pork was good and tender, and the enchiladas were cheesy and covered with a delicious creamy green sauce. My rice was underseasoned. It's a nitpick, no big deal. three out of five on the rice. And then, my refried beans: this is where la Dama fell short. The beans had a faint but noticeable unpleasant taste to them, as if they had been hanging around for too long. To me, refried beans are like chips: you can sorta use them as a standard to judge the whole experience. I didn't bring it up with anyone because I was hungry and the enchiladas and rice were good, so there was no reason to send the whole plate back. I just didn't eat them. But it gets even more interesting. I paid my check using Apple Pay on my phone. I tried to get the barmaid's attention, but She was engaged in conversation with some people at the bar, so I just headed out. on my way to the door I said goodbye to a guy who looked like the owner and a couple of other employees. They were real nice. I'm sitting in my car in the parking lot and the guy who looked like the owner runs out with my check in his hand. I roll down my window and he says, did you pay the check? I told him yeah, I paid with my phone. When you pay with your phone, can't they see that immediately? the barmaid must have picked up my check, handed it to the owner and told him I didn't pay. It left me with the impression that they don't know what they're doing here.

Just okay. We ordered the chip and queso and also had the salsa. All of that was delicious. We also had a steak quesadilla and chicken tacos and both were just okay. The meat didn't seem to be seasoned and if it was then it wasn't seasoned well. Also pretty pricey for what you get. The restaurant itself is very nice and clean. Staff is also very friendly.Overall not the worst but not the best.

This has become the best Mexican restaurant in Delaware, anyone who hasn’t eaten here please give it a try. It’s real Mexican food not from a Sysco Truck, the mother is the cook and she’s a beast! Can’t wait to go again and just enjoy the taste of other Mexican cooking .?‍?

Really wonderful place. Great service. Great food. Family recipes. Have only been here twice and can't wait to go again. If I wasn't based in Ocean City, I'd be here a few times a week!

We've lived in California, Minneapolis, Oregon, and Boston before moving to Delaware, and I'd rate la DAMA as one of the top Mexican restaurants in any of those states. The food is genuine, the portions are large, the owners and staff are friendly, and the restaurant welcomes anyone and everyone. You can find cheaper Mexican food locally but most of it tastes pretty generic, like fast food. The recipes at la DAMA are handed down from the owner's family, so that even a dish as simple as refried beans has a very unique and satisfying flavor. I hope they expand their hours soon to include lunchtime, so they can attract a larger client base. I know we'd eat there more often if they did.
