After years of visiting Dover, I made it over. We had a half buffalo, half meat pizza. DELISH! The crust is crispy yet soft. Holds the toppings well with a god chew, and a delicious crunch. Not sure the flavoring they use at the end of the crust, but, I loved it! We also ordered the fried zucchini and broccoli bites. The zucchini was delicious. Not overdone at all. The sauce had a delicious sweet marinara flavor. The broccoli bites were good, just made with a little too much veleveeta...
Pizza is one of those foods that is regional. I grew up in Trenton, NJ. Where it's called Tomato Pie. Cheese on the bottom and sauce on top. Grotto's makes it the way I like it. If I had to complain about anything, it's the lack of herbs on the pie. No hint of Oregano or Basil. They use fresh sausage, and it cooks on the pie. Love the thin crispy crust. Could be a little more done, but it's good. I will continue to go there.
We Typically make a pit stop here on our way to the beach. The kids love the pizza so its a good stop. We don't usually have any issues but, our service this time around was extremely bad. Our entire order did not come out. We waited for our waitress to come back to the table to let her know, but she never returned. We had to walk up to the front and let another worked know about it.
