Rusty Jimmie's Crab House

We (3 of us) walked in hungry for crabs. We considered buying a dozen to split, and settled on the all you can eat for $55/pp. We were there to eat a LOT, and they could tell. It took a few minutes for our order to come out, but what arrived to the table was nearly 4 dozen fresh-caught crab. Steamed to perfection and loaded with enough old bay to season a swimming pool. We got to work. Over the course of two hours we scarfed down about a dozen each, sweating bullets and loosening the drawstrings on our pants. By the time we tapped out we had annihilated a dozen crabs each (the table record was 13). The cornbread (dipped in crab juices) and hush puppies (served with honey) were excellent also. Chris, the owner and fishmonger who caught everything on the menu, was incredibly friendly throughout the entire experience. I have eaten a lot of crab in my life and these were by far the juiciest and most flavorful. I have eaten a lot of meals in my life and this was among the best.

I have eaten at multiple Michelin Star restaurants here in the States and abroad and I genuinely haven't had as nice of an experience as I did here at Rusty Jimmies. This unassuming crab shack has an incredible all you can eat deal with fresh crabs caught daily. I lived in Maryland for four years and these were the best crabs I've ever had. The hush puppies and corn bread were so freaking banging I didn't even know where to start. I ate so many crabs that I was sweating and my lipstick was GONE. 10/10, you're doing yourself a disservice by not coming here and going to a more corporate crab shack tiki bar yuppie BS. EVERYDAY i look for reasons to stay alive and meals like this is over of the top reasons. Thank you Chris for great hospitality and fresh crab!

Wow! Freshly caught, cleaned, and prepared crabs for lunch today. Crab soup was fantastic, as were the crab cakes and soft shelled crabs. Thanks, Chris!

Food was great. Everything we ordered was really good. But what really made it stand out was the service. The owner was the one taking care of us, and you could tell they genuinely care about the experience. Super attentive, friendly, and just made us feel welcome the whole time.

So this place is absolutely amazing. It is old school but I promise you do not let that fool you. If you know good spots to eat yoi know they don’t look fancy. Amazing food amazing service. Highly recommended.

Wonderful experience and great crabs! The owner was so kind and attentive. The crabs were delicious and very fresh. The owner told us he is the waterman who catches the crabs each day and brings them into the shop and steams them. The service was phenomenal. The experience was akin to being in someone’s kitchen while they made you crabs.

Had a great dinner here! Thankful for Chris and his service! Greeted as soon as we walked in, friendly, and the food was 10/10. Would definitely recommend!

This is definitely the place to go to get crabs from. My cousin and I are always in OC during the Spring and Summer seasons. There are several places to enjoy the AYCE crabs, but this was our best find. It's a gem, and the owner is awesome. I will definitely be visiting very soon!
