Delicious as always! You can expect the best here, as the ice cream always is! Lots of flavors, but I can highly recommend the Coconut, paired with Chocolate and the Peanut Butter Crunch. Comfortable seating at 3 tables inside, especially nice during cold weather, but on a Saturday late afternoon, it was steady busy, and seating may be limited. An array of unusual, artisan gifts, and shoppe merch available as well as scoops and other dairy delights.

I love ice cream. Vanderwendes makes some of the best farm-fresh ice cream around. So when I was driving down 404 today I decided to drop in. It wasn’t very busy for a Sunday afternoon when compared to the summer months. I order some Peanut Butter Fudge Crunch in a waffle cone today. It was so good!

We pass by this place every time on the way to the shore. A few years ago, the prices were so low that I was so happy and laughed. I guess they took notice and adjusted the price accordingly over the years. Oh, no tax! This is Delaware!

The ice cream portions are huge, so if you don’t have a big appetite, stick with one scoop. The ice cream itself is really great, and the farm is absolutely beautiful. Vanderwende has worked on enhancing the scenery over the years, making it an even more pleasant place to visit. It’s the perfect spot to take a break, use the restroom, and enjoy some amazing ice cream. If you’re traveling from the DC metro area to the beaches, Vanderwende is well worth the stop.

Staff very unfriendly, the girl at the register was rude, didn't smile,and had no knowledge of the price. She doesn't even thank you. Pineapple cherry milkshake was very bland , no flavor and definitely overpriced. Our order also got mixed up with someone else, no organization when it comes to order either. This place definitely was a huge disappointment. Go at your own risk. We won't be returning and that's for sure.

Excellent ice cream, generous proportions, lovely scenery. The cows got curious and came over to check out the weird humans.

Kid-friendliness: There is a small play structure to allow some burning off of the sugar before you strap the kiddos back in the car.

Never disappoints! Quality local made ice cream with Lots of flavor options, and no skimping on portions. Good amount of parking, but can get full in summertime, especially on the weekends. Be patient if there is a line, it’s worth the wait.
