Alex's Seafood Restaurant & Retail Located in The New Castle Farmers Market

My first time eating at Alex’s. Based on my experience I would not recommend. The soup was the best part of my meal. Ordered Steamed shrimp and steamed clams. The shrimp had little to no seasoning. They were overcooked making them very hard to peel. I had to ask for a side of old bay to put on them and use a lot of cocktail sauce. The clams were full of sand. Personally I don’t like chewing on sand. I also had the Seafood soup that was very good. Based on my visit I would give them 2 stars out of 5.

I ordered crabs from here for a veterans' event, but unfortunately, more than half of them were bad. My family and I eat blue crabs from Chesapeake City several times monthly. We decided to order from Alex's Seafood since they were having a sale over the weekend. However, the meat in most of the crabs was mushy or pasty. I was not the only person who had this problem this weekend. A woman with her family was on her way out and tried to warn us, but we had already ordered.

I like this place, but purchased scallops the other day and had them fried for me. They had no flavor at all which was surprising to me. I did enjoy the CrabCake. Very tasty.

It's hit or miss here. Sometimes you get good food and service sometimes you don't. I guess it depends on the moods of this family run restaurant. It definitely needs an upgrade.

I picked up.one dozen jumbo steamed ra s. Pure mush!! $95 per dozen! Dont buy here! Awful!

DO NOT BUY SEAFOOD FROM THIS PLACE!! I bought soft shell crabs and when I got home to cook them they were completely rotten. They were sold to me frozen and called “jumbos” which couldn’t have been more wrong considering they were 5” crabs. After thawing the crabs the smell was unbearable, and they were disposed of immediately. If their frozen food is rotten I can’t imagine what they are serving their customers. This place is a joke and I would advise you stay far away.

Had a blast chilling & enjoying an amazing meal. I had the seafood linguini, raw clams & buffalo wings. Very delicious & pasta was loaded with seafood.

I got crabs sunday and they were the worst crabs I ever had. I have always bought from here and this was a first. They were so watery and hardly any meet. Also it was very mushy meat what I did have. Totally disappointed and my man waisted his money

Alex's Seafood Restaurant is located inside the market, and the seafood is to die for! Our waitress was very nice and recommended the Fried Seafood Platter. Not only did the food taste excellent, there was plenty of it for leftovers.

My husband and I have been coming here for yrs. It's our sunday for lunch spot. The kitchen staff are very accommodating about my seasoning request, Barbara is always our server. She's very attentive, and it always makes us feel so welcomed. Love this place! A hidden gem.
