The hostess was extremely rude and seemed annoying to see us walk in the door. She did seat us down quickly but we proceeded to wait for over twenty minutes. No one ever offered us water or even checked on us. The hostess watched us get our things together to leave. She didn’t even try to stop us nor did she offer any apologizes for the wait.

We were seated by the rude hostess only to sit for about 25 minutes without being brought water or bread or even acknowledged. On the plus side, we went to Rancho Azteca down the street and in the same wait time, we got waters, chips with salsa, drinks, our appetizers and our order was taken.

I started with a French Kiss Martini, which was very sweet and tasted heavily of pineapple juice—almost too much so for my liking. The crawfish bisque was very flavorful; possibly a little over-seasoned, but still enjoyable. The bread with the butter sauce was pretty tasty and a nice touch.

For my entrée, I had two blackened crab cakes, which unfortunately tasted undercooked with a mushy texture and were also over-seasoned. The mashed potatoes were very creamy but again, heavily seasoned. The hush puppies had a dusty, off texture and were over-seasoned as well, topped with an equally over-seasoned sauce.

My date ordered the catfish, which he said was tasty but also over-seasoned. He had the same issue with the mashed potatoes and hush puppies.

That said, the atmosphere was beautiful—very quaint, cute, and cozy. I would definitely go back for the ambiance and to try something different on the menu, but next time I’d ask them to ease up on the seasoning.

Nora Lee's is an amazing New Orleans atmospheric restaurant with the best Cajun Creole food in town. My fiancee got the blackened chicken platter cause she's afraid of heat. But loved it I had the voodoo sirloin (which is a blackened sirloin topped with voodoo crawfish tails. It was cooked perfectly and lasted amazing. My family has been in the food business for 50 yrs. And this is my go to place for Cajun Creole grub. Waitress was great and atmosphere was real deal. We also had the wings and blackened crawfish nachos which were to die for. I was a lil disappointed with the bread it was slightly overdone but the Cajun butter makes up for it(I just have sensitive teeth)Mary the owner and her husband hafer are great people. If you haven't already I suggest you give them a try.

Yes No

Came here for dinner and
The the crab and artichoke dip was cold.No flavor and was topped with unnecessary roughly chopped tomatoes $21 overpriced, not good at all. Looked like tuna fish slapped on a plate surrounded by cold bread.
Have their catfish and garlic, mashed potatoes with a side of Hush Puppies. The catfish was fried very well. Crispy, crunchy and perfect but lacked salt and needed more seasoning. We also got their crawfish bisque soup tastes very much like bland tomato soup with very few pieces of crawfish in it.
Our waitress was nice. The atmosphere was nice.
The portions versus the price versus the taste of the food did not add up.

The Scallop (3) appetizer is fabulous however pricey. $18.00

The Shrimp Po Boy was amazing and valued at a fair price.

The Blackened Crab Cake platter was not my favorite.

Amazing atmosphere.

Mac n cheese is way better than I expected. I got the blackened chicken entree and my bf got the blackened sirloin all to go. Both presented beautifully and taste delicious. Wings are not my favorite (I try wings every time they’re available, so that’s not saying they’re bad) but the flats are the perfect texture in my opinion.

A Delightful Surprise with Authentic New Orleans Flair

I visited this restaurant last night and was genuinely impressed. The food was absolutely delicious - honestly, I was shocked by just how good everything tasted.

The atmosphere is quirky and cozy with a full-on New Orleans theme throughout. The decor really commits to the vibe with skeletons and voodoo elements, so if that's not your thing, it might feel a bit intense. But if you appreciate thematic restaurants, they nailed it.
Yes, it's a little pricey, but the quality and experience make it well worth it. What I loved most was that this place offers a refreshing break from the usual chain restaurants. It has character and authenticity that's hard to find these days. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Definitely the best tasting Cajun food I have had. I still have yet to go to New Orleans so I cant compare it to the real thing but the food we ordered was very good. We ordered the seafood jambalaya, catfish and alligator jambalaya, and the blackened catfish. I also ordered a cup of gumbo. Everything was excellent. The gumbo was amazing. The server was great. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant. I will definitely go back here when I visit Delaware again. It was a little expensive but it was worth it. I wish there was a Cajun restaurant this good near me.
