Idk why all the one stars recently but I'm thinking they are a bunch of followers who never tried cannons. I've been coming to cannons for 20 years and NEVER had a problem. They are one of the best bakeries in Delaware. Maybe it's the customers having a bad attitude and not the employees. I come here every year for birthdays. They are fast, nice, welcoming and their bakery is just amazing. People are so miserable anymore. Bake your own damn cake then. They got all the supplies at the grocery stores. People will find ANY excuse to write a negative review.

Absolutely disgusting cake and customer service from this bakery yesterday. I heard the owner of this bakery treat my neice as though she did something to make her own daughters cake taste like medication or chemicals. The owner did nothing but make excuses after my neice paid over $100 for their cake, forcing us to go spend even MORE money on cake for a party that was due to start in one hour. He offered no solution and was absolutely disgusting over the phone. We will not be returning after our family has used Cannons for decades. EDIT-i tasted the cake, heard the owners disgusting customer service on the phone and had to run to buy a last minute cake. My review is 100% valid,as will be my BBB complaint. P.s- you are=you're

Just by the person who answered the phone i would not dare get a cake here!See look at the ignorance in the reply “i am not your customer” i actually called inquiring about a cake so i would have been a customer but the lady answering the phone sounding so nasty and uninterested! And by your reply im happy i went elsewhere.

The worst customer service !!! Rude employees and owner. Instead of fixing a cake that had a nasty tasting frosting he accused our family of doing something to change the taste during transport never offered to fix argued on phone The cake was gross and so is owner ?

LOVE LOVE LOVE the cake I received from Cannon's. Icing tasted great, very smooth and it was NOT overkill. Decorated very classy. I won a birthday cake from WXCY - the local radio station, but I will be back to purchase in the future.

Cannons has been our family go to for my whole life. We usually ordered cakes from there, and in my opinion, the best quality cakes around here. Plus their other pastries and cookies are top notch. We’ve never had a problem with anything we’ve ever ordered from there. I look forward to the next time a need for a cake comes. I’ll be headed there. Thanks again!!

Cannons ruined my 10 year old sisters birthday party with their disgusting cake and customer service. My family has been using this bakery long before I was even born and never had an issue until yesterday. None of my friends or family will ever return. My mom paid over $100 for a cake that we couldn't even eat. The owner is the absolute worst customer service I've ever witnessed. Instead of offering a solution due a cake he would rather spend an hour on the phone making excuses and arguing. The icing on the cake tasted like they dumped cleaning chemicals in it but my mom things they just used to much food coloring. I'll let you know what the lab says because we are having it tested.EDIT-my mother bought the cake but I tasted it and heard you on the phone. My review is valid. Have the day you deserve.

How about instead of gaslighting your customers and CONSUMERS, take accountability over your error and replace the cake you ruined next time? This bakery made my niece a birthday cake that had icing on it that tasted like chemicals were it in. I personally tasted this icing and have a very valid review to leave about it whether I bought the cake or not. Then to make it even better, instead of taking any accountability yesterday and replacing the cake it tastes like you dumped chemicals in, you wanted to argue and insinuate that a mother sabotaged her own daughters birthday cake somehow on the way home to feed it to her guests. Absolutely unprofessional, do not go here.

Horrible customer service. People reviews aren’t valid cause they didn’t order the cake!! They ate it or smelled. So it very much is valid to review it since they experienced the issue. As an assistant manager of a food establishment this is very much unacceptable. How about practice the 3 A’s in customer service. ACKNOWLEDGE APOLOGIZE AND ACT! And yes you are correct I’m not a customer thank goodness for that. Call me I’ll teach you a few things about how to treat a customer

The owner now, Brandon, has NO idea how to treat PAYING CUSTOMERS when HE and/or the little staff who can deal with working for him mess up. Read the Google and Yelp reviews. All of the people who had bad experiences are not lying, Brandon. You are the most unprofessional business owner and you have ruined your family's business. You should NEVER attack customers. You apologize and work to make things better. With the responses you've written to people online, it's clear as day that the people who leave bad reviews are telling the truth. Been here more than once since Brandon took over and will not be back again. He is a complete a***

Cannon’s is an amazing place. For over 30, years now, Cannon’s is the only bakery that my family goes to.Yesterday, we accidentally dropped the cake we got. Today we went in to try to find the same cake, but they didn’t have anymore left. We were just going to get another one, but they refused to let me walk out with a cake I didn’t truly want. They made me a replacement cake on the spot free of charge. I am entirely grateful, the cake was the one thing I wanted for my birthday.They are always this caring, gracious, and attentive at Cannon’s. It is always an absolute joy to walk through their doors. 10/10

Please please please if you are reading this do not give this company your business Their attitude and non-professionalism is disgustingly ridiculous! Their cakes may be good, but they're NOT that good!! That they can treat people/paying customers the way they do! They DO NOT even deserve the 1 star (I HAD to give), in-order to post this review.....I had ordered two cakes from them. One to be picked up on a Thursday afternoon and the other to picked up early Saturday morning.On Thursday morning I called the bakery about 5:30 AM. Knowing bakeries are usually in early! When you call; it tells you that they are open and to please hold so I did. Brandon answered the phone and I started to explain that I wanted to specify the color of blue I wanted used . His quick and ignorant reply was "the decorators are in between 10 and 11.!" So I said "well can I leave my message with you." And his again quick reply was "it's 5:30 AM seriously!" Keep in mind he did NOT have to answer the phone if he was not ready to properly help a customer!! I waited until 11 o'clock to call back, which right away puts you on hold (for 10 minutes)! Then Andrea answered; another extremely rude and unprofessional employee. I started to explain my situation. She asked my last name, she quickly put me on hold. At this time I could tell she was already overwhelmed in her day, so I waited patiently for 15 more minutes on hold! When she came back, she stated that she needed to go through over 200 "papers" to find my order, and she listen to what I had to say about the blue. Again she quickly put me on hold for another 12 minutes, and upon returning, we discuss the cake a little! Then I started to say "I wanted to" & she quickly put me on hold again for 15 more minutes. When she came back this time she must've forgotten who all was on hold and asked "what can I do for you?" I refreshed her memory that I had been on hold and her reply was. "Oh yeah, what else do you want?" Now I am irritated; I stated I wanted to pay for my 2 orders (todays and Saturdays.) Funny, but her attitude changed just a little. She nicely took all my credit card information, and that was the end of that.Saturday on the other hand was a cluster F & a 1/2! My order was to be picked up at 9 AM Saturday morning. My son arrived at 11:30 and was told the cake was not ready. This is 2 1/2 hours past its scheduled pick up time. He was told it would be another hour or 2! Mind you this was a cake for a surprise party that was happening at 2:30 PM that day, we are from PA so we drove backwards to Delaware to pick this cake up in the 1st place! At that time because my son had other things he had to pick up for me, I had to call one of my guest who lived in DE to ask them to grab the cake on their way to the party. My guest arrived at the bakery at 1:15 (almost 2 hrs later & 1 hr 15 minutes PAST SCHEDULED P/U time and was told that cake still was not ready and would be about another hour. When my guest called me and told me this; I was livid. Keep in mind I NEVER got a call from the bakery about any issues! I then called the bakery to say "hey, I have my friend there to pick up my cake that was supposed be ready at 9 o'clock. Can you just give it to them." Again Andrea answered; who stated well it's not ready. My response was are you kidding me And her response was "the more I stay on the phone with you the longer it's going to take I don't have time to argue with you!" I was dumbfounded and said "excuse me, this cake was supposed to be done over four hours ago, and now you're telling me you don't have time to talk to me!" Anyway, we hung up so that she could help get my cake ready which took ANOTHER 50 minutes to get ready! My guest did not walk out of the bakery until 2:10 with my cake, that was scheduled 4 days prior for a 9 AM pick up! Again I NEVER received a phone call at ANYTIME from the bakery! My guest got to the party at 2:40 so I
