“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. I had a lunch meeting scheduled for 12:00 p.m. for 15 people, but due to an internet issue at my location, I was unable to place my order online. When I arrived, Aryn immediately asked Hanaan and Joella to assist before the lunch rush began. Before I knew it, they had my entire order prepared, bagged, and ready to go in no time. Their teamwork, efficiency, and willingness to help made a potentially stressful situation completely seamless. “We stop in once a week. Sometimes we eat there and sometimes we call and pick up. The atmosphere is fabulous. If we ever do have to wait for our food, it’s totally worth it. If my husband and I are together we sit and have wine while we wait. They are all very friendly! If we get take out, we always get extra so we can have leftovers, which are always delicious. We reheat the pizza in the toaster oven, it’s amazing. We also love the desserts there! It’s just a great spot and we love it! I’ve never once been disappointed with any of their service or food.”

“Had a great meal at ugly dumpling, greeted with great service right away! Service was personable and accommodating to my stroller and a high chair for toddler. The establishment is extremely clean and beautifully designed. Waitress was helpful in assisting with menu, family style small plates, 3-4 plates for a couple suggested. “We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.”

I have been mourning the loss of my favorite wilmington boba spot (it sounds dramatic but I am serious, the others just aren’t the same) so am so glad to have found a good one, even if it’s a little bit of a hike.”

“When I first came in I was warmly greeted by two great staff members. One or both may have been the owner. I was given the rundown of a pretty great menu with two really great sounding avenues: breakfast meat options with home fries and eggs, or something like a double sausage on a roll for lunch. Boom. That's what I got. Really nice diced onions and green peppers which were sauteed then placed on the bottom of the bun first, then I had them add spicy mustard and the sausage links went on top of it all. I loved this technical approach because it makes the eating experience not-messy and very nice. We've all had hot dogs where the toppings are stacked on top and fall off with every bite. That's not how this was. Well considered! The sausage was really flavorful and wasn't dry or too salty. there was a great snap to the casing of the sausage and the ends/tips of the sausage were satisfyingly crunchy from a great cook. The whole experience was a good one and I absolutely will be going back. I think the price, portion, and quality was excellent, too, for less than $10 -- you can't find that these days. The only improvment: might be to grill/toast the inside of the bun a little more, but that's extremely nitpicky and not required. I can't wait to do their breakfast-y platters next. If they're scrapple and bacon is the same quality as the sausage, this place is going to be a no-brainer when I come to Newark, Delaware once or twice a month to go to Days of Knights Games or Captain Blue Hen Comics. I actually live in Maryland and the drive is about 25 or 30 minutes, but I'm telling you, it's worth it! Main Street, and Helen's, rules. 5/5”

Both the Chicken Chettinadu and Tikka both are whole meat chunks of chicken, amen, with comforting seasoning to boot. A little of each as pictured and I have plenty for a second meal. Can't review alcoholic drinks because I don't drink.Recently I ordered pick up. Upon the return time they gave me... It took about a 20 minute wait for someone to come to the front to assist me with my pick up . They gave me a receipt but not my debit card back. Partly my fault to realize this.....but their fault too...this is the 2nd time that happened to me at pick up.. I think maybe a bell would work at the front desk to get someone's attention.i even stood at the bar for 5 minutes but no one came out.for awhile.. all in all I will probably return here be a use thw food I've had has been delicious each time....I recommend the shrimp quesidilas and I love their rice. However I think that their customer service really needs attention. They gave me a menu. “Last night, my wife and I tried Cheddar’s for the first time. We both ordered steaks with sides—I had the ribeye and my wife had the sirloin. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and were very tasty. My ribeye had a bit more fat than I prefer, but overall the food was good. The service and atmosphere were excellent, and we will definitely be going back.
Follow-up: I decided to add to my review after dining here at least five times now. Unfortunately, my wife and I experienced the same issue for the second time when we entered the restaurant. There was no one available to greet us, and we stood there awkwardly waiting for someone to acknowledge us and show us to a table. When an employee finally arrived, she completely ignored us and instead went to assist a woman who had entered after we did. She then disappeared into the kitchen to check on the woman’s takeout order. Throughout all of this, we were never acknowledged or even told that someone would be with us shortly. The experience was just as disappointing when we left. Two employees were standing at the register near the exit, yet neither one said anything to us. At most restaurants, you would at least expect a simple “Goodnight” or “Thank you for coming.”
Everything else about our visit was fine, but these are two areas that really need attention. He was so wonderful and pleasant to speak to and so accommodating. Our waitress Crystal H was wonderful too. She gave such great service, even helping us to decorate the tables. I didn't expect her to do that but that was so nice of her. The food was great and prices reasonable. The staff there all seemed so friendly. Again many thanks. I had a lunch meeting scheduled for 12:00 p.m. for 15 people, but due to an internet issue at my location, I was unable to place my order online. “Went to The Green House Gastropub on Friday 2/6/26 for lunch and had the Casa Verde Nachos (we added crab!), the French Dip Sammy and the Tony Fontina Burger along with a finely crafted Bloody Mary & Maple and Brown Sugar Old Fashion. The food was delicious, the drinks wonderful, and the waitstaff perfectly attentive. Our Bartender, Fa was a delight. 10 out of 10. Everyone should stop by!”
