“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !”

It’s hidden under an apartment complex, next to a generic looking liquor store, off the main road, next to a bus depot, like seriously, you have to know to know. So consider yourself told.

“We stop in once a week. Sometimes we eat there and sometimes we call and pick up. The atmosphere is fabulous. If we ever do have to wait for our food, it’s totally worth it. If my husband and I are together we sit and have wine while we wait. They are all very friendly! If we get take out, we always get extra so we can have leftovers, which are always delicious. We reheat the pizza in the toaster oven, it’s amazing. We also love the desserts there! It’s just a great spot and we love it! I’ve never once been disappointed with any of their service or food.”

I had a lunch meeting scheduled for 12:00 p.m. for 15 people, but due to an internet issue at my location, I was unable to place my order online. When I arrived, Aryn immediately asked Hanaan and Joella to assist before the lunch rush began. Before I knew it, they had my entire order prepared, bagged, and ready to go in no time. Their teamwork, efficiency, and willingness to help made a potentially stressful situation completely seamless. Thank you. Now let's get to the food. I had the Chicken Picatta. I had to take the picture because at the first bite I new it was about to be destroyed. I left nothing on the plate. The Impossible Sloppy for those who need a vegan option also got a thumbs up. The food comes out hot hot! No one complained! I will be back the next time I am in Delaware.”

I’ve now tried several different items and different pizzas and all of them have been delicious. You gotta try the BBQ beef cheesesteak (add extra meat and extra cheese) and BBQ chicken pizza. Wow 👍👍. I can tell they get slammed with takeout and delivery orders. Great staff. They’re my new go to.”

“We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.”

So I needed somewhere to camp out afterwards since I wouldn’t make it back home to wilmington in time. I stumbled upon this place in my “coffee shops” map search. Everyone working was very kind, and the drink + bagel i had were both so good that I felt compelled to actually write this FB review. I have been mourning the loss of my favorite wilmington boba spot (it sounds dramatic but I am serious, the others just aren’t the same) so am so glad to have found a good one, even if it’s a little bit of a hike.”

“Went to The Green House Gastropub on Friday 2/6/26 for lunch and had the Casa Verde Nachos (we added crab!), the French Dip Sammy and the Tony Fontina Burger along with a finely crafted Bloody Mary & Maple and Brown Sugar Old Fashion. The food was delicious, the drinks wonderful, and the waitstaff perfectly attentive. Our Bartender, Fa was a delight. 10 out of 10. Everyone should stop by!”

Tikka Masala delivered via Doordash brings us delicious flavourful Indian food that I enjoy medium or spicy (there's that fire!). Both the Chicken Chettinadu and Tikka both are whole meat chunks of chicken, amen, with comforting seasoning to boot. A little of each as pictured and I have plenty for a second meal. Basmati rice, naan and the circle on the plate is complete. Update: Masala Dosa is heavenly! Perfect dish. A blessing to have fantastic Indian food at our beckoning call. Nicely done & thank you!”

“Visiting Newark and wanted to try something new. I ordered online the half and half of Original and Honey Garlic with some Gyoza. The picture on the menu showed the Gyoza with a dipping sauce but it didn't come with my order - I didn't notice until I got back to my place, a little disappointed.
Felt like $28 was a lot for an order, but it is essentially two orders so it was good. The chicken was good! I preferred the Honey Garlic as it was a little crispier, but both were good.
The Gyoza was good too, would have been better with the dipping sauce and some chili oil.”

I would recommend helping out with the ordering process by providing smaller menu vs looking at the TVs it helps when people might have vision problems.
We ordered a few boba teas and we asked for no ice, but they still came with ice. Being the winter we wanted not to have our drink super cold.
I would recommend creating a loyalty program being on campus can help with repeat customers and increase their visits”

We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.”

“I had been wanting to try Cafe Gelato after hearing so many positive things, so we decided to go during Restaurant Week. I chose the Restaurant Week menu, while my husband ordered from the dinner specials. He was offered a soup or salad with his entrée, which we later realized came at an additional cost—something that wasn’t clearly explained upfront. He still enjoyed his meal overall.
The complimentary bread was delicious, but I found my meal to be somewhat underwhelming. The lobster chowder was quite bland, and I was expecting it to include noticeable pieces of lobster. The bacon sprinkled on top added some much-needed flavor.
The potato ravioli was a standout and very enjoyable. My main entrée—ricotta and lobster wrapped in homemade pasta—was decent, though again, the bacon was the highlight of the dish.
The menu gave the impression that dessert was included in the fixed price, and even our waitress acknowledged that the wording was misleading.
That said, the service was attentive, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I’m glad I finally tried it, but it didn’t quite live up to my expectations.”
