“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !“

“I discovered this hidden gem a few years ago and have been in love with their lamb gyro since. I recently needed food catered for my graduation party and immediately knew it has to be from here.

The food was amazing. We had chicken and lamb gyros for my party. Everyone loved it.

But what stands out the most is the owner. He has ALWAYS been a wonderful human to interact with. He is kind, caring, generous and all around amazing person. The food is out of this world but knowing my money is supporting his business is even better.

“Great-tasting food; there were some vegetarian choices, which, to me, is more than just having a salad, but I would really love to see a great vegetarian burger with all the fixings. But the service and food were great. I ordered one of their mocktails, the one with the guava (or is it mango) with the ginger; this is excellent. It reminded me of a drink that I had at "Charlie Was a Sinner" in Philly (another great restaurant-mostly vegetarian). I had the nachos as an appetizer; they are shareable and very tasty. I ordered the falafel sandwich; it needed a bit more salt but was overall good. I wish there was more sauce; it was a little dry for my taste, and I am sure if I had asked for more sauce, they would have obliged. As my side, I ordered the sweet potato fries, and they were excellent. I had a 4 pm dinner reservation, so there wasn't a huge crowd, and it was also student move-in day on campus, so I didn't expect it to be too busy, but I'll give it two weeks, and I think that place will be packed. I highly recommend this place. Can't wait to try other things on the menu.“

“Really good food, good prices. It’s small but there’s plenty of seating. Friday and saturday at dinner time is packed but a weekday lunch or dinner is easy to get a table. I’ve never had a bad meal. This is my go to sushi place. They also have really good ramen with big portions. I think this is the best restaurant at the mall.“

“My family and I tried this place recently, and we all had a great experience. The pizza was absolutely delicious, the staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt authentic and comfortable.

The next day I went back about 30 minutes before closing to grab a pizza to go. They were already mopping the floors and getting ready to close, but no one acted bothered that I came in. They were just as friendly as the day before, and the pizza was just as good.

It’s clear they care about both their food and their customers. I’ll definitely be coming back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for great Italian pizza.“

“We decided to go to dinner at Firebirds. I had been once and was not impressed; however my husband had never been there. I have to say the food was good. Cooked exactly the way we wanted. The only draw back we had is the portions of food that you receive for the price that you pay. We felt like we were robbed. We don’t over eat so when I say we had small portions, we really had small portions. The dessert was even small portions for the price that you’re required to pay. The five very thin layers of lemon cake were good but the slice was very thin for $10.25. Out bill was $76.30 for two and I would have no problem if we had an appetizer and alcoholic drinks but there was none of that because we don’t drink. We each had a soda because the lemonade was too tart. The server was very pleasant and on time with everything. We tipped her well as we should have. Not sure I can return there. A little more light would be appreciated if I did return.“

I’ve now tried several different items and different pizzas and all of them have been delicious. You gotta try the BBQ beef cheesesteak (add extra meat and extra cheese) and BBQ chicken pizza. Wow 👍👍. I can tell they get slammed with takeout and delivery orders. Great staff. They’re my new go to.“

“We love this IHOP! We live in New Castle, but we travel to this one all the time! Everyone is always pleasant when you walk in, they all speak, smile and even the manager was singing along to the music playing. She also made sure to let us know of the upcoming NEW menu items. We usually have Tim as our server and he is always on point! Very personable and he talks to everyone like they are in there every day! The food always comes out hot and looks just like what you order from the menu! I used the restroom and when I passed other servers/workers, they all speak and look like they actually want to be there, which is a nice feeling. The manager was checking the restrooms and she spoke and was very pleasant, which was very clean! You have a great crew here at this location, that is what keeps us coming back!
