This is only the 2nd time I tried this place. Tgis time I was disappointed. (Last time, the Stromboli was okay)I tried the steak, pepper, and onion Stromboli this time. The steak had several pieces of fatty grizzle that could not be chewed. This time, the service was rather indifferent, focused on her phone. The first time, the woman was very friendly. So far, this is a hit or miss kind of place. This is basically a take out place that has a few tables and chairs to sit...
DP Dough is a Newark institution. It's changed hands, but it remains unchanged in its essence: Calzones, and only calzones.
Extremely limited in-house dining, DP Dough is almost exclusively carryout and delivery. It's not even remotely fancy, but it's hearty, comforting, and tasty.

Took my family to DP Dough because my wife and I haven't had it in over 10 years. Still tastes exactly as we remember and our kids enjoyed their new favorite calzone spot!
