Food was good the service took a bit. We started to order 2 drinks at a time instead of one.

Worst experience. We’ve been seated for twenty minutes inside and no service was provided at all. It wasn’t busy. The water flow in man’s bathroom was so minimal that I could barely wash my hands
Brunch is so amazing! Staff is super friendly. We got the coffee cake pancakes and breakfast skillet. SO delicious. Everything is reasonably priced- including mimosa pitcher. Used to come here when I was in college and years and years later and it’s still great.

Good food and service. Very pricey for what you get. Served with side of chips. $5 additional for a real side.

I use to live their crab nachos. The last time they were drenched in obey. Not a fan

OMG that Salmon Risotto! Delicious! The draft beers were flat and without a head though so had to send back and get another.

I am super disappointed with my food today. I paid 3 extra dollars to change my side order to fries and received 7 fries exactly. The OMG burger which I usually love was dry and lacked flavor. Such a disappointment!

Stone Balloon Ale House is a contemporary gastropub that masterfully combines upscale bar food, craft beer, and a lively yet comfortable atmosphere. Located near the University of Delaware, it’s a favorite among locals, students, and visitors alike. The interior has a modern industrial design with exposed brick, wood accents, and plenty of bar seating. I visited on a Friday evening and was seated quickly. I started with the buffalo cauliflower bites, which were surprisingly flavorful and had just the right amount of heat. For the main course, I chose the short rib grilled cheese—tender, juicy short rib meat layered with melty cheddar on thick, buttery bread. It came with a side of duck-fat fries that were incredibly crispy and addictive. My companion went for the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, which delivered a spicy kick without overpowering the flavor. Stone Balloon also features a rotating beer list with local and regional craft brews, as well as cocktails and seasonal specialties. The service was friendly, and our server was knowledgeable about both the food and beer menu. Prices are fair for a gastropub, and the portion sizes are generous. Whether you're in the mood for a casual drink or a full meal, Stone Balloon consistently hits the mark.

Awfully loud outside seating and lackluster service. The Kennett Square location is much better.
