It's a college bar, and you get what you expect. Dirty floor and the atmosphere is clearly catered to 21 year olds. That being said, Grotto's wings are always solid and the grand slam sauce brings it home. The pizza is plain but is done so consistently you always know you can count on the taste and texture. Would definitely recommend if you want to go watch a game and enjoy some quick food.

Grotto Pizza (especially their White) is best on the planet! However, the restaurant in Newark is a disaster. Staff too busy on their phones to take care of customers or replenish paper towels / clean the men’s room. I asked staff twice for paper towels to dry my hands and told to use bar napkins. Plus overall cleanliness / cleaning is poor to nonexistent.

So I’ve gone here more times than I can count in the last few decades. My family’s really great friends with Dom so we have always gone to Grottos my whole life. This last time I was picking up a big order and I had to use the rest room. The little bouncer nearly jumped me as I went to go in. Completely rushed and blocked me so I bumped into him and he shoved my hand off the door handle like I had leprosy. Startled the heck out of me. He wouldn’t let me use the bathroom. Wouldn’t even let me in. Paying customers are only allowed to pick up at the window. I was a paying customer picking up a big order but not allowed to pee. Look, I’m 47 years old, not 22 and I don’t look like trouble. I know how to act. I also don’t like being touched by random strange little men. So I just left my order and I went to Domino’s instead. He let me use the bathroom and even gave me a couple free drinks and free dessert. Guess what? No one man handled me or made me feel unwelcome and I didn’t pre my pants, no thanks to your Newark location

Did not let me in despite having UK issued ID. waited for 45 minutes for parents weekend before being told that, as a UK citizen with a valid driving license. That's fine but if they let me know before queueing that would've been preferable

Tried to place takeout order by phone at 6:30 on a Friday night and got VM message that said I was calling outside normal operating hours. Then placed order online and got confirmation, only to find out that their printer never sent the order to the kitchen, so my wife had to wait an additional 15 minutes. We love the actual Grotto pizza itself but this particular location is the filthiest and most tired looking of any of the chain locations we’ve eaten at. The kids working there could care less.

We love Grotto Pizza. The bartender was very nice too.
I've always enjoyed this location. The pizza is always amazing, the staff is extremely polite, the restaurant is always clean, and the ambiance is nice. I really wish I had a Grottos Pizza closer to home. I'd be there all the time. Great job, kudos to the management and staff!

Food is always great, just wish the staff at pickup were more friendly and attentive to customers, stood around waiting to pickup my order, along with another person while the 2 staff members at pickup were having a great conversation off to the side completely ignoring us until they were done with there conversation. And when being handed out order kept having a conversation with the order in hand until the finished the juicy convo
