At 4:30, it is slow and we start an early linner or dunce; I can’t decide what term would represent a late concept of brunch with b’fast & lunch, so what is the better name for lunch and dinner? And don’t even suggest
supper as this is a smaller meal and far from what we did here.
Now down to feasting: place is tucked into a little corner north of I-95; south of Delaware RT-58 and east of RT-1. KPOT: Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is pretty big and the seating is ready for good size groups but accommodated just the two of us also. A booth had a center cooking grill and 4 electric warming plates to support hot pot cooking.
Along the back wall is a large assortment of different sauces and condiments that can be used in small dishes or as I tried, various concoctions. I so wished I could have made some bottles to take home.
The main thing is to purchase all you can eat BBQ or Hot Pot or if you’re hungry and can’t choose, both. Drinks are à la carte.
We’ve done this kind of thing of course but were rookies to this operation, they’ve got an electronic pad menu ordering system that takes some acclamation. Fortunately, as it was still early, Jeff, our server was patient and helped us through this process, he pointed us to the more popular items and with a process of quizzing our preferences produced an initial order to get the show started.
Food appeared quickly and again as Jeff was able or bored, starting cooking it for us as he’s done this before. We ordered more food; Jeff cooked it.
I know what ever she ordered as a first drink, it didn’t work, but they replaced it immediately. I was very happy with the Mai Tai though they were up front about lacking orgeat syrup; a very common problem when requesting this drink but it is uncommon for the bar to be honest enough to admit this fact.
To summarize, you don’t come here for a cheap dinner but our tab wasn’t out of line with any other average night out with drinks. Service was way above average. Food quality was outstanding, flawless in quality and abundant quantity; the assortment was excellent too. By the time we departed around 6 things are hopping and Jeff is working a lot more tables. Sure you could get seated but you might have to cook for yourself as is typical in this venue.

Great place with amazing food and an adorable mascot. You can dodge occasionally long waiting times by arriving off peak hours, but either way, the food is worth it.

Go to Newark and ask for Jeff! He is the best! He made sure our guest was given a birthday surprise Jeff was so nice, attentive and adaptable! Give Jeff a raise!!!!! The food was great too, especially for such a big party when most of us were here for the first time.

The waitress was decent, but the servers actively avoided talking or even responding when asked questions, and the rudeness was off-putting. Not bad as a one-off experience, but I wouldn't go back. $81 with tip for two people and no drinks.

Alex made sure the confusions were situated and it ended up being such a fantastic experience. Came from Alberta, Canada and was super happy with the service!

Horrible experience. From the time we were seated. Our server Sophia didn’t give us any direction as to how to use the stovetop she just left us hanging. She never checked in on us. We had to ask other servers our questions we had about the food etc. Our stovetop wasn’t working properly and when it was addressed our waitress just shrugged her shoulders & smiled smh! We had to find napkins and silverware. She didn’t even help to clear the dishes that we already used from our table. All said and done the manager came out and said he will talk to her and that was that. Will never dine at this location again!! I heard so many good things about the KPOT in other cities & this location was close to my house-it definitely left a bad taste in my mouth.
