I called to get information on the local VSO. Very polite and gave me the information.

I have to admit post environment has greatly improved. Doesn't reek of cigarette smoke!

Great place for a visit if you are out of town. They make you feel part of the family immediately.

The people were very nice and accommodating. The place was very clean and well spaced out. We had several small children and they understood children are children. Would have an event there again.

Old men bitching about Vietnam while being over-served in a deep smoke-filled environment of alcohol, gambling and anti-Americanism. This post represents everything wrong with the VFW today. I tried to be a leader of positive change in the Canteen but was forced out by a constant barrage of Drama-induced servers who were more engaged in their own welfare than that of the post. What is truly sad is most of those servers were part of an "old boy/woman" network that stretched back 20 years. Despite the turmoil, I was elected Junior Vice Cmdr.... and I cherished the role until I realized what lies were expected of me. VFW475 represents the VFW of long-ago. .. a drinking club of old men. They'll probably call me an angry ex-employee and that's true. How could any HONEST veteran stand by? I need to sleep well at night so I resigned my job and position. Let's hope they come to their senses and realize that drinking till drunk, heavy smoking, and treating women like objects is NOT the future of the organization. .

Pretty much everyone encountered at this VFW is welcoming/friendly. The only downside is that there is a lingering odor of smoke even when no one is smoking. Smoking is allowed in the main area which permeates throughout other rooms that are smoke free
