AJ’s service was outstanding—friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed the whole time. The Margherita pizza and chopped salad were both amazing—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The cheesesteak with cheese was just okay, not bad but didn’t stand out like the other dishes. Overall, a great experience thanks to AJ and some truly delicious menu items

Margherita’s Pizza is the definition of classic, no-nonsense pizza done right. A staple in Newark for years, this spot offers that nostalgic pizzeria feel with red-checkered tablecloths, handwritten specials on the wall, and the irresistible smell of fresh dough and garlic. It's a casual, counter-service place, great for grabbing a quick slice or sitting down with friends for a laid-back meal. I ordered a large Margherita pie—thin crust, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and basil. The crust was thin and crispy but still had a nice chew, and the tomato sauce tasted homemade with a touch of sweetness. The ingredients were fresh, and the balance of flavors was just right. I also sampled a slice of the buffalo chicken pizza, which packed a nice spicy kick and was loaded with cheese and tender chicken. They also offer subs, pasta dishes, calzones, and salads. Prices are more than fair, and portions are generous. Service was quick and friendly, and even though it was busy, the staff kept everything moving efficiently. It's not a gourmet or modern fusion pizza spot—it's old-school, reliable, and absolutely satisfying. If you’re looking for authentic East Coast-style pizza with no frills but full flavor, Margherita’s hits the mark every time.

I’ve ordered here twice since recently moving to DE.

First order was a meat lovers pizza and wings. Easily of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Perfect crust, sauce and toppings, can’t say enough good things about it. Even reheated the next day was an amazing pizza. The wings were really good too.

Second order was a Buffalo Chicken Pizza and a wrap. The wrap was good. The Buffalo chicken pizza was disappointing. Just a regular cheese pizza, with tomato sauce, and buffalo chicken on top. I’ve never seen a Buffalo chicken pizza like that before, ever. The crust was also much soggier on this one.

The first pizza was so good that I’ll definitely order a third time, but will stick to a more traditional pizza/toppings and hope for an experience more like the first time.
