McGlynns Pub - Pike Creek is always a solid choice, just like the Glasgow location. The pub food is consistently good, the beer selection is awesome, and the service is usually very good as well. It’s an easy, reliable spot whether you’re meeting friends or grabbing a casual meal before heading out. Just like the other McGlynns, it never disappoints for what it is.

Terrible service. Visiting from out of town, waiter said it was his last day. Therefore, apparently he didn’t care. He didn’t even bother to put in the food order. Paid the drink and left. Will not be returning.

My party visited on a Friday night in January. The bar area was about 3/4ths full but the tables and booths were mostly available. Our server was quick to get our drink orders which consisted of some beers, soda, and water. Initially the noise level was pretty low but soon the music (hard rock) started and it did get a bit louder but not so much that having a conversation was hard. I ordered the turkey Dijon on a pretzel roll with sweet potatoes fries and the rest of my table mixed it up with sandwiches and more entre style meals. The food was great and was brought out around twenty minutes after ordering. The server was very attentive, checking on us every 5-10 minutes. When we were leaving (around 8 pm) the place had filled up quite a bit more but there was still plenty of seating.

I normally like the vibe, but on a Friday night, you need some kind of entertainment before 9:30 pm. The place emptied last Friday and there was nothing until we were about to leave. We were leaving because it was dead. The DJ, who has filled that place before til close and had the dance floor full, did not start until 9:30. By then, the energy was zapped and not many were even paying attention. We left very disappointed. It’s understandable some nights business is going to be slow. In this case, the place was packed when we arrived at 8 pm. We expected that. We did not expect the place to clear out and the energy to drop before any entertainment had a chance to get there. Entertainment on a Friday and Saturday night starts earlier in other establishments. Most have at least a DJ by 8. You’re missing opportunities by starting something at 9:30. We felt bad for the DJ. We won’t be back unless the schedule for some kind of entertainment starts earlier. You’ve got an older crowd in there quite often. People are not going to stay until 9 or 9:30 waiting for music.

After 5 years of horrible experience after horrible experience, decided to give them a try and just grab a sandwich. what a mistake. Roast beef sandwich came out LITERALLY (and trust me I know how to properly use the word, and I'll post a pic) RAW. Sent it back and told them to keep it, it was disgusting. Total incompetence, I have no idea how that could be served and meat that raw be placed onto a roll. They're going to get someone sick! NEVER AGAIN!

Tried to stop in for the prime rib special and all you can eat shrimp special after a 10 hour work day and eating nothing. Seated at a table and after almost 15 minutes the host who sat us didnt even recognize us or remember where we were. Mind you it is not even remotely busy for this location. After mentioning we haven’t been greeted by a server the people that were seated after us were immediately met with a server (the server was the same boy that my girlfriend had just told we had been waiting to be helped at our table.) Terrible, unorganized service. Walked out after seeing that.

Pretty standard pub food but well-executed. We came for their appetizers, which are especially good. The french onion soup was delicious. We also enjoyed the apple salad. We didn't order alcohol (it was like 2:30 PM , and we're not big drinkers).

Our meal ended up being a bit more expensive because we ordered four apps and split one entree, but it was a tasty and relaxing late lunch.

Service was great. The wait staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful, without being intrusive. We had a ton of little plates on the table to shuffle. They helped us manage it, bussed dishes quickly to make more space for us as we finished them, and were quick with drink refills.

My first time ordering from here I got the salmon and they didn't give me mashed potatoes that I chose for my side or the pineapple sauce that was supposed to go on it. I called and the guy gave me an attitude when I asked for a refund and then hung up on me so on my way home I stopped up and the manager said I should have never been hung up on and they refunded me for my meal. They didn't. I'll never eat here again. The one in Peoples Plaza is so much better but too bad I don't live near there anymore. I don't recommend this place at all and I do like McGlynns food.

My friend and I were looking for a late lunch sandwich / burger in the area. We stopped by McGlynn’s Pub. We are certainly glad we decided to try their “Kitchen Sink Burger”. What a fantastic meal, yes this burger is not just a burger but an entire meal. You name it because it’s part of the burger ensemble. Fried egg, mozzarella, Onion rings, etc.
I’m from Southern Maryland and this is the best burger I have had in quite some time.
4.5 stars
Very friendly staff
If you’re in the area check out McGlynn’s on Polly Drummond Road Newark you won’t be sorry.
