I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3

The servers are top notch pros. Super efficient. Ann Marie in particular was menu-knowledgeable, friendly and awesome. Food was expertly executed. We asked for dark, crunchy hash browns spread thin on the griddle and got exactly that. Strawberries Shortcake French toast did not disappoint. Great value, nice atmosphere. A+

Devin was amazing! The most social and friendly waiter I’ve seen in a very long time. I noticed him talking to other customers as if they were family. It was refreshing. Other waiters were just as great; they asked for refill on our coffee even though they were not our servers. Highly recommend!
