Newark Deli and Bagel has been a favorite place of mine for over 20 years. The bagels are the best!

Newark Deli and Bagels has been my favorite since my undergrad years at UDell. Every Saturday morning, like clockwork, I’d grab breakfast there — and all these years later, not much has changed! Whether I’m driving up to Jersey with my husband or visiting with friends, we always make a stop.

My go-to is the Taylor ham, egg, and cheese on a multigrain bagel — scooped out and extra toasted — and it hits the spot every single time. The bagels are perfectly crisp, chewy, and flavorful. Honestly, even in New Jersey (yes, Jersey), the bagels don’t hold a candle to the ones here. And now that I live in Charlotte, NC, I miss this place even more — there’s just nothing like Newark Deli and Bagels down south.

Delicious, consistent, and full of good memories. A true gem that keeps delivering!

Guy at the register uses his position to flirt with girls as opposed to taking orders… the service is a joke but the food is good👍🏼

Got a bacon, egg,and cheese. Burnt bagel, no cheese and one tiny egg that had a temporary $.50 up charge. Won’t go back. Paid $26 for 2 egg sandwiches and a bagel with cream cheese. Subpar

Bagels are tasty but ridiculously overpriced, and they are way light on the toppings, especially considering the price. Pint of Hy-point chocolate milk was $3.70, while every other place that carries it around here has it for $2 or less (no prices listed on the drink case, only found out when it was rung up). Grouchy, disinterested, and slow service. I was the only customer and it still took them 5 minutes before acknowledging me and a couple more before taking my order. I won't be coming back here. I'll go the extra 2 miles down Elkton Rd. to Bagelmania from now on and get twice the food for the same amount of money and exponentially better service.

Newark Deli and Bagels is a middle of the road experience. Their bagels are quite good, but prices are high. Service can be a bit slow, but there are a few really nice staff members. I witnessed one return a woman's credit card on an occasion. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, but it is clean enough. Go if you want something on bagel!

Might be the highest rated place that I genuinely don't understand. Service was god awful, the lady at the front wanted nothing to do with her job and was incredibly rude to my friends and I. Hire a college student looking for a job not some old washed out cranky lady. Food tastes like it was microwaved earlier in the morning, place is filthy as well. Not sure how the average is 4.1

I believe they have the best everything bagels around, hands down. Honestly, they have never been known for good service, but their far superior bagels has kept me coming back for years. But I don't know if I can anymore. It is unbelievable how frequently they get my order wrong. Their success rate is under 50% as of late... Usually putting my breakfast sandwich on a different bagel from what I ordered. I always call in my order and thought maybe I am not communicating it properly.. I always get a whole wheat everything, but too often they put it on a plain whole wheat bagel. This last time I asked them to repeat it back to me. They did, and it was accurate. I get home, and two sandwiches are on whole wheat BREAD 😡. With the prices increasing as much as they have, I can no longer justify spending that much knowing I have a better chance of getting a sandwich I did NOT order than what I did. After 25 years of frequenting Newark Bagel, I am officially done.

We have had take-out here. Great food. We ordered ahead and the line was long, but it was worth the wait.

Very few things can survive the glow of nostalgic college memories once you haven't experienced them for 10+ years. I was delighted to visit ND&B this weekend and find that my go-to university brunch meal was still available and just as tasty and huge as I remembered. Order the show off, thank me later.

I haven't been in a long time, but it is a very convenient to-go spot near UD's campus. The bagels are decent, and the lunch sandwiches are generally better than the breakfast sandwiches (unless you are looking for that bacon-egg-cheese on an everything bagel fix). What shocked me was the price gouging. Yes, food is expensive all around, but they charge $3.20 for a single pint of Hy-Point chocolate milk (costs $1.49 on Instacart). Moreover, I was charged $3.55 for a bag of chips with $2.69 literally printed on it. When I asked about these things, and the price discrepancy on the chips, I got no real answer (just confusing jumble). Sorry, but this is unacceptable.
