This is my new go to store even though I live in Middletown. Found fruits (starfruits and mangoes) that I could not find anywhere else. Staff was also very nice.

I love coming here and getting my food. but today wow just wow. I went to the seafood section and got snow crab legs. I got home opened the bag and omg the smell of ammonia coming from them. I called the store and told them. this wasnt the first time something like this happened. the seafood section has gone down hill badly.

Safeway is already well known with its quality products in every department. So, I'd like to highlight not the products but one of its employees. Mike, a gentleman who works in the bakery department at People Plaza Store, is a shining star. He is very kind and helpful. He takes care of the customers as if he is running his own store. My company - it's the biggest distributor in its field in the entire country - is spending tons of money to implement a work-environment model that is called "owner's mentality". In this model, employees are expected to work and take care of the business and its assets as if they are the owner of the company. Mike would be a living example of this model. I wish there were many others like him in everywhere. Thanks Mike!

I have to say over the years I have been a avid shopper and supporter of Safeway in my community. But over the past year I have to admit especially at the people’s plaza location in Newark DE that their produce has gone down hill

Love this store, the floral/gift section tops all other grocery stores. although, I have been wanting to apply for the Starbucks inside and cannot figure out how! follow all step by steps for job opportunity and never see a Starbucks selection. and do not see a message option on here! barista for over 3 years then a team lead for right under 3 years and am so ready to get back to work after time home with my children! would love a link to apply at please and thank you!

My husband and I love the Strawberry Zinco water but can never find it in stock. Safeway has it but it's not always available. Bill, in produce, was kind enough to order a case for us. We could see that he was busy but he took time for us and remembered to place the order. We've experienced excellent customer service all the way around. We now drive out of our way to shop there.
