Showed up at 1130pm ride back to Philly. This is right off 95 and worth the 2 minute detour. Great service (even on a Saturday night), cool atmosphere, attentive server even when it got busy. Classic diner and did not disappoint.

I’ve only been to Smiley’s a handful of times, but I absolutely love it here :) it’s nice to see that there’s still 24 hour diners, I don’t see them much anymore haha!
The menu here is absolutely HUGE. I usually get a gyro when I come here, that or a Greek salad. They’re both absolutely delicious! I would absolutely recommend the Greek salad with grilled chicken, it’s the best I’ve ever had! Everyone who works here is always so nice and helpful and understanding. They’re quick to bring you refills on drinks or answer questions you may have. Not to mention the service is so quick, even if you get a lot of food!
I also just love the atmosphere of the place, the lighting and wall colors somehow make it feel like you’re dining outside when you’re not? Crazy haha but as someone who gets overwhelmed by crowded spaces and loud noises easily, especially when eating, I’ve always found this place to be amazing in that regard, as it’s very open, and never loud or echoey.
So yeah! If you want a nice dinner with nice service in the Newark area, I’d definitely recommend! This place has been a lifesaver as a roller-skater who’s always next door at the rink and exhausted and hungry by the end of it haha

Went on a weekday for breakfast. It's clean with a friendly staff. Classic diner food choices with good service. I know it's easy for the staff to sit people near each other, but i didn't like how all groups were clumped into one location.

Large portions and outside of the box entrees for a diner. Very friendly and outgoing staff. Definitely will be going again.
I’m not sure the reason for the switch but they used to have awesome home fries and deep fried potato’s. Now all you get are these ultra processed French fry cubes that are no good. Will be getting breakfast elsewhere from now on.

Our meal was just Ok, reasonably priced omelettes. Service was also adequate except for the dollar charge to add onions to the breakfast potatoes. We found out about the ridiculous charge when we got our bill. We brought it to the waitress’s attention. She rebutted that I asked you if you wanted onions. I should not have to tell you. You should expect an extra charge. Two bucks total for some skinny onions on dry omelettes. Much less likely we will return.

I want to shout out Burrock sorry I spelled his name wrong omg he's awesome from seating us and giving great customer service. Me and my bf was going skating last night and I was afraid that I had to put my food outside of the skating rink we couldn't bring our food inside so I asked him is it okay I can leave my food at Sunnys and he said yes and he kept it safe spot when we came back I received it and offered me some tea.When I say I was happy and thrilled I was trying not to tear but this was the best experience ever and it was love he was really good to us. Second your other waitress occasion lady she works til 7am every night but I forgot my skates and I called 2am and she said she was looking for me I had left to get my Lyft and realized I didn't have my skates she was sooo nice and friendly and said she will keep them safe til I get them. That's love and I really appreciate your two waitress I will bless them with a tip. You don't get good customer service around the world but when u come into Sunnys Diner in Newark De its love respect and friendly. Thank you guys
