The Greene Turtle Sports Bar & Grille

Came in late evening Sunday with a date and sat at the bar to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat. The bartender, I think her name was Heather, was great! One of the best old fashions I have been able to get locally. The food was ok, what you would expect from the turtle but the service was phenomenal. My date and I ended up spending almost 2 hours there just laughing and talking with the bartender. Would definitely recommend this place to others!

Derek at the bar provided a superior experience...helpful, effort, friendly, prompt! Bavarian pretzel sticks were delicious, and also the Fried Chicken salad with honey mustard. An excellent selection of spirits being available, I chose the Glenfiddich 12, although a number of Irish, Rye's and Bourbon's were also available...highly recommended

I used to really like the Greene Turtle, but it seems to have gone downhill recently. The last time we went, we waited a very long time for our food, it came out either cold or undercooked, and the service was subpar. We were disappointed to say the least.

First time here. Very dirty. Trash and food all over floors throughout the restaurant, bathrooms were filthy with toilet paper and towels all over. Servers rolling silverware in a booth, bare handed - no gloves - YUCK!

Waited over 20 mins to be seated and that’s when I should have left and went to a different location. Everything was terrible from the waitress to the food…. Completely disgusted and won’t be back to this location ever!

I’m a break local. I’ve been going to the green turtle at the beach and since arriving up north for years. The shrimp tacos are a major disappointment. You now get two tacos with 6 shrimp and fries for $15.99. The still come in a 3 taco holder… The manager says 2 tacos is the way it’s always been. Absolutely not so. Service was slow and not what it used to be. There are many better places to eat in Newark. They will no longer get my business. Disappointing

Came here with my frat boyfriend the other night for dinner and we had such a nice date night together here. I got a burger and he got the mozzarella sticks. We sat in a booth and we had a really nice time together. There was some nice music playing and the waitress was really kind and helpful. Will definitely return again soon!

The food had no taste, absolutely no taste except for the flavor of the excessive grease/oil dripping off our burgers. The lettuce on my husband's burger looked like a shriveled up piece of kelp. Oh, and it wasn't just burger grease dripping, it was like they stuck it in the cooking oil at high temperature and it was still dripping with it when they assembled the burger on the bun. Half of the fries were soggy as well. Won't be back, should have left as soon as we noticed only one other patron on a Saturday afternoon. The excessive grease caused stomach issues even with us only eating 1/3 or less of our food at the whopping cost of $72.22 with our appetizer and 2 beers and 1 non-alcoholic drink.

Awesome spot. All the bartenders are fantastic. Their slam burgers are awesome. Super friendly staff
