Had a wonderful experience for my daughters sweet 16. This was a great way to introduce the young men to fancy tea time as well. And they all loved it!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! Everything is baked on premises and was delicious. You can almost taste the care that went into the preparation. The restaurant itself is quite charming with whimsical decorations like tea cups hanging from crystal chandeliers. Noise level quite manageable and experience thoroughly delightful.

My wife and I enjoy the afternoon tea experience and have visited tea rooms all over the country. Wee Fancy Tea was wonderful. It was our first Delaware tea room, and it did not disappoint. We started with the charcuterie boards, which had fresh fruit cheese, crackers, and bread. The highlight for us was the whipped berry cream cheese topped with craisins, nuts, and honey. My favorite tea was Strawberry Cream. We loved that the pot was placed on a warmer to keep our tea hot, but we did not like that we had to strain it as we poured it into our cup. Tea tastes bitter if it steeps too long. The last cup of every pot was not as good as the first. The standout sandwiche for me was the roast beef with chedder and apricot jam. I would not have thought of this delicious combination on my own. I also love chicken salad on cinnamon raisins bread. The sandwiches, however, were mostly standard for a tea room, but the desserts were outstanding. I loved every single one. The tea menu was not very large, but there were plenty of teas to choose from. One important note is that you can change the tea flavor without a charge if you order a menu item with bottomless tea. So you can try a few flavors when you visit, and I recommend that you visit soon.

Stopped by on a whim. Super cute and the staff was so welcoming! They made sure I had a good time despite there being a large group planned for that day - tucked me into a quieter area that I much preferred. Their fresh made soup of the day was delicious and the tea set up superb. Will def come back again with my family.

Amazing tea experience! I had a wonderful time with my mom. Food and tea was top notch! And our waitress was lovely.

The only complaint that ruined our experience and hence the 2-star rating is the woman at the front reception/cash register desk was speaking to people behind us in line when we actually entered the establishment first. Mind you, my mom and I are women of color and we felt ignored. The receptionist made no eye contact with us until I spoke up boldly that I already had a reservation, and I wasn’t simply a walk-in. We expected better customer service upon being greeted.

Enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much, but not the on-site price change! I had a reservation for 5 young girls and me, and was not told about any Saturday price changes, even through 3 separate phone calls to schedule. Upon arrival, I was told that on Saturdays, reservations for more than 3 children are $28 per kid for the princess tea (vs the $13 I expected). The website and menu say nothing about this.
This is the cost of a reserved birthday party without the party room and ten child minimum. My reservation ended up costing double what was expected - not the best professionalism! I felt taken advantage of with 5 excited little girls. I couldn’t just tell the girls “oh never mind” and leave! 🙄

We fancy tea has beautiful decor, wonderful staff but I was very disappointed in the lack of space. I booked a fairly large party. A party of 25. I talked with the person on the phone and they said they had a large table that could fit most of the people and chairs with tables around it. When I got to the location the table was taken when I had booked over a month in advance. As well as we were told we would just have to spread out on tables of three and four around a large party. Not only did I have to speak with the owner to get a party room when I had reserved over a month and a half in advance I was told by the lady at the desk my reservation was almost given away because I didn’t answer a phone call confirming again at 12:30( my reservation was at 2 and I got there 15 before )when I confirmed not once but twice a week prior. I also put a deposit of 100$ down so why they didn’t know I was coming because I didn’t answer a phone call a hour and a half prior is beyond me. This place is beautiful but needs better organization skills. Also I am usually a great tip giver but they demand a tip be payed automatically if you have a party over 8. In my case they needed 145 on top of the bill but crazy enough me and the rest of the party planned on giving more. I have planned parties at many places but that is just beyond me. I never been told how much to tip, they just don’t know that messes up how much the waitresses could truly make. I would have also liked to have been told that when I called to confirm the two different times and payed my deposit. Overall I had an amazing time but these things truly ruffled my feathers .

What a delightful experience! Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the yummy teas and treats was wonderful. We reserved afternoon tea for 23 people for a bridal shower. The staff was so warm and accommodating, and made sure that everyone in the party had an amazing time. Such fun!

I visited recently with my young son. He said it was "the best tea he ever had." He enjoyed the experience and it was a fun time out for us, but the service was disappointing.

We ordered the Queens Tea to share and they charged us a $10 sharing fee. Nowhere on the menu is a sharing fee noted. Additionally, our waitress did not notify us. A $10 sharing fee for a $30 meal!? We were seated relatively quickly. Our tea and food came out fast, but then we never saw our waitress again. I had to flag down the second waitress to get our bill.

*Updated: I stand corrected. The sharing fee is noted on the menu. Even after reviewing the menu several times prior to sharing my review I missed it, but it is there.*

It's great that they have a children's option for tea, which lists "two freshly baked desserts" on the menu. A group of young girls at the table next to us each ordered this option, but from what I could see there was only one freshly baked dessert and a Dum Dum lollipop.

The atmosphere is VERY loud. I don't recall it being that loud when it was the British Bell and the floor was carpeted, which it no longer is. It's a small space, but there is nothing to absorb the sound.

We were not rushed, but there was something about the whole atmosphere that felt rushed. It's not the same relaxing experience it was at the previous tea room.

Very cute place. Strawberry tea was my favorite. Would love to see them expand and add more food or full brunch menu.
