Food was okay, service was good, restaurant ambiance/decor was warm, festive and inviting. Our order came out quick even during a busy lunchtime which we appreciated. Prices were too high for the okay food. The ramen broth was bland compared to other places in Newark.

Very generous portion of food and ingredients . I ordered the seafood UDon which got 5 shrimps, 2scallops, two mussel and many other ingredients. Similarly,the spider roll came with generous ingredients. A good portion is soft shell crabber and fresh avacado with little rice which I really like. The quality of ingredients is high. All veggies are fresh. It is tasty and just has a bit room to improve. It is a pleasant surprise to find a Japanese/Chinese restaurant with this quality in the area after a late day shopping. Could be the best in the area.

I love getting take out from here. It never disappoints. My go to meal is the teriyaki bento box with a side of BBQ pork buns and a milk tea. Their boba is pretty standard, sometimes the pearls are not always cooked through but that only happened 1 time out of the 15+ times I have had food from here. I only ate in 1 time, but it was a great experience. They were busy but the food was so delicious and authentic. I have had their ramen and it is very good. If you get it for takeout they have the special bowls that allow for the noodles to be separate from the broth which is a HUGE deal lol

For being at a mall, this restaurant is such a diamond in the rough. We've never gotten anything that wasn't amazing. Their mini soup dumplings are a must have.
*Update*We were here to do some light shopping. But because of that, we had the chance to visit our favorite restaurant in the christiana mall, Chiwa Bistro.. She is forrever a fan of the pork cutlet curry as the chef punched the curry heat a few levels. My new item was the crab onigiri which they provided for the onigiri that was absolutely nothing to the crab. Too much.I just read a medical diagnosis of diabetes so i thought it would mean to skip chocolate, which i thought would mean the end of me. Nope. Next love is Bobo and they've figured how to add less sugar without compromising on the taste. One again. No problems here!Update*The last time that we were there, we noticed a few new menu options with the "coming soon* label. These were for katsu items. (Breaded pork or chicken cutlets served with sauce) The final one made it's appearance yesterday when we asked out waiter about it and the wife happily dined on her Curry Katsu. Only issue was that there were a few small bones in the cutlets, but the rest was great. I always wondered why the first thing she always wanted while eating Japanese food was the curry. It's very sweet! Once again we had excellent waitstaff. Bubble tea is some of the best at the mall. Taro for me!The wife and I came here to do some recon for our upcoming 25th anniversary. We were floored. When we had business that way we always used to stop in Rockville, MD for what we thought was the best sushi and bento. Tonight, we discovered we were wrong. Chiwa Bistro is the best sushi and bento we've ever had. From the ambiance to the food, everything was perfect. I have not had a BBQ pork bun in ages and these were mini masterpieces. The wife and I were trading bites back and forth and we had a wonderful time. The help was very attentive and very polite. Will we keep coming back here? Absolutely, and yes, we will be spending our 25th anniversary dinner here. Might even try the bubble tea next time.
Chiwa Bistro is a must try. It's small but has a nice atmosphere and vibe. The service and food were great, and we loved how the menu had a picture under every description, so you knew what you were getting. The only negative is having to deal with the mall traffic and parking to get there.
