Had the Mahi special which was delicious. Having seafood in a steakhouse may seem to be a contradiction, but it was perfectly prepared with a crab topping. Service was, as usual friendly, timely and professional. The seafood bisque is a reliable standard. Highly recommend this restaurant.
1776 steakhouse is a must go to when in Lewes/Rehoboth. From the kind greeting when we arrived, to the live piano player to the wait staff and FOOD. It was delish! The 1776 Filet with the lump crabmeat and sauce melted in my mouth. The flavors were amazing. Make sure to make reservations...it was busy!
It was our first time there.Been wanting to for some time .It did not disappoint.Our waitress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the the menu.The fried scallops were amazing.The steak was the best we ever had and the Maui Maui with crab was wonderful was well.Can't wait to do it again

My wife and I made reservations at 1776 and right from the start we had a wonderful time. Had a drink or two at the bar before dinner. Then once seated, our server (Alex) took great care of us. He had great suggestions for a seafood special for my wife and the fantastic Kansas City strip steak for me. We highly recommend the 1776 if you have a chance to visit there.

Our server seem to be in a rush the entire evening. He talked really fast just rushed in and out our table. And although I'd put on the reservation that I was celebrating my birthday, he never mentioned it at all. This is not really what I'm accustomed to on my birthday in other restaurants and it was disappointing.

Never fails to provide the upmost fine dining experience in Sussex County. Was exceptionally busy, but we were seated promptly and staff treated us like no one else was around! Sea food appetizers, and steak dinners were the choice, and all left happy and content. The highlight of our quarterly trips to the beach!

We've enjoyed 1776 maybe a dozen times and have never been disappointed. The steaks are outstanding and less expensive than you'd typically find. Our favorite waitress Kathy always takes care of us and every meal has been delightful!

The food was, as always, excellent. Quality of the veal special and the filet was outstanding. We enjoyed the huge baked potato and the perfectly sauteed asparagus. The wait staff works as a team and doesn't miss a beat. With no room for dessert, we could not ignore the tempting chocolate cake so we brought a piece home to enjoy later in the evening. Still the number one place on our list for special occasions or to just make a regular evening special.

The food, service and all over experience was excellent! Steak was cooked perfectly and so many appetizers and salad choices. Lots of choices for non steak eaters as well. Would highly recommend!

Went for a birthday. Waited just a couple of minutes for our 5:30 reservation. Wait staff was very nice. Good service. The steaks were very good. A little noisy but we were at a table near the front and we could carry on a conversation pretty easily. Would recommend it for a special occasion. Price was very reasonable for the quality of food and service.

Spotlight shined in our faces. Not cozy lighting. Server did not clear dinner dishes and let wine glasses sit versus clearing when bringing a new glass. Steak ordered medium rare was medium. Cocktail selection a bit stale. Need a couple of bourbon-based drinks (almost all cocktails were martinis). This visit was a bit more disappointing than the past. I will not sit up top of platform again to avoid light shining in my eyes. Server was not the most personable. Barely smiled. Also did not bring out steak selections to show us table side.

We love this place. The service was a pleasure. They were so attentive and accommodating to our needs. Our food was fabulous!!! The owner is a pure gentleman who acknowledges everyone. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I've been driving past this restaurant for over 30 years and just never took the time to try it until now and boy am I glad I did. There were two of us for dinner and we both totally enjoyed our steaks. I had a fillet mignon trio which was delicious and my wife, who is not usually a steak eater, ordered a 6oz fillet mignon which she enjoyed. If you're looking for a great steak dinner with outstanding service, 1776 Steakhouse should be at the top of your list.

I have always been impressed with 1776. I had the Filet Mignon and my wife had the crab cakes. Each was exceptional. The peanut butter pie was the best I've ever had. This is my favorite restaurant in the Renovate Beach area.
