I usually sit at the bar and love the causal feel. The food and Margaritos are very good.

Unfortunately, we didn’t have a good experience at El Azteca. We ordered the carne asada and chicken and chorizo fajitas, but the food did not meet our expectations. The carne asada had an unusual presentation, the meat came in large quantities, was extremely thin, and very simple in flavor.
The guacamole was overly salty. It seemed like it was made in large batches, and everything ended up tasting too salty. We mentioned this to our server and decided to order plain avocado instead.
We were hoping for a better meal, but sadly, it wasn’t the case. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

In our opinion El Azteca is the best Mexican restaurant in the resort region!

Our office ordered lunch to-go and it was awful! The chicken was dry, the chicken tacos were sad & empty, devoid of flavor. Most of the food was thrown away. On the bright side, the quesadillas were good.

We were a group of 7 adults and 1 baby. We were seated immediately but the waiter didn't come around for 10-15 minutes to greet us. We placed our drink orders, and that took about 15-20 minutes to get. Once the waiter dropped off our drinks, we placed our food orders. We waited and waited and waited.
An hour and 45 minutes after arriving, we still hadn't received our orders. We finally complained, and they immediately brought out two of our orders. Mine, which was 3 beef tacos on hard shell tortillas, and my wife's food. Both of our meals were already cooled off, and mine had the bonus that the beef fat had soaked into the tortilla and made it soggy. We complained again and paid for our drinks and left.
I could sort of understand when we first walked in because it was very busy, but by the time we left the restaurant was already half empty. As we were leaving another couple noticed how long we'd been there. He was shocked to hear that we'd been there almost two hours. They were 45 minutes in and still hadn't received their food.

I was starving and decided to come to Azteca with my family of 12 and they were sort of unorganized. They didn’t have big tables at all and they had so many big parties and no big tables? They started to assemble our table in front of us, we thought that was unorganized. Then we got sat, our waiter was a bit shy and quiet, I understood sort of, but then again if your working as a waitress you should have some sort of voice to ask the customers what they would like. Don’t even get me started on the food. Me and my sister had chicken quesadillas, we thought it was gonna be so good because every time we got to a mexican restaurant, they have amazing chicken quesadillas, this has to be the only mexican restaurant we’ve been to that’s had bad quesadillas. The quesadillas were not well seasoned nor well cooked, the chicken was shredded and mushy, could barely taste the cheese, my cousin literally thought i was eating straight tuna. My other cousins had burritos , they didn’t really like them, it had no flavor. My cousins cousin had chilaquiles and shes an adult, shes not picky which shocked me when she said it was gross and she said the sauce was the issue. Then the bill comes to $300 , we expected it to be expensive of course , but for food that tasted disgusting like that? Absolutely not. Theres also only one bathroom which I think shouldn’t be that way, there should be multiple, especially considering I went in the bathroom, and people started to shake my nob and being loud and I felt rushed to get out the bathroom, I think they should have at least 3 stalls for each gender so more people can use the bathroom, but at least the bathroom itself was clean.

Hands-down, the best Mexican restaurant in Beach beach. The staff is super friendly, the food comes out quickly and hot.
I usually get the grande sampler. I love their tacos barachos (drunk tacos)con chorizo.
The fajitas are also awesomely delicious.
