The food is always fantastic! The service was terrible. Waited a long time for our drinks and service in general. Our waitress had way too many tables. Nice birthday candle in my husband's dessert. We of course will be back and hopefully service will be better.
Best old fashioned I've had in years. Brussel sprouts were amazing. Great wedge and Ceasar. Wonderful experience overall. Worth the price of admission.
"The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium, with a delicious crust and a rich, buttery flavor"
Riley, our server, was absolutely great!! Such a sweet and knowledgeable girl. A really great experience overall.
It's an upscale restaurant with a cool ambiance for a special occasion. Everything was excellent. Great food with a pleasant and welcoming staff. All 4 of us were very pleased.
Filet was not tender, onion rings cold and soggy. Temperature of meat not cooked correctly. Our server Pete was great, location and overall ambiance was great. Way over priced for the quality of food. Hoped it would be amazing, but not so much.
An unexpected and elevated dining experience that offers a sophisticated chop house atmosphere and top notch service with exquisitely prepared cocktails and entrees, you almost forget you are at the beach.
i used to really enjoy this restaurant. The food was very slow coming out and just OK. I am not in a hurry to return.
Everything was terrific. We loved the muffin, Cesar salad, shrimp, filet and lamb.... Oh and the stuffed potato was fantastic too. Service was great and ambience excellent.
When arriving for our reservation, we were seated in hallway leading from the bar and bathrooms and kitchen. My husband had to sit beside me along the wall as every employee passed right behind his head continually. We asked to be moved to an empty table in the main dining room. Our server responded that all tables were reserved. If we had wanted to be seated at a main dining room table we needed to call the restaurant instead of using OpenTable. The appetizer of Oyster Rockefeller was not the typical recipe and not in a good way. My husband's filet was done to his expectations. I ordered the mushroom risotto which arrived as a pool of brown gravy with mushrooms and no identifiable risotto. It was truly inedible. Our server did remove it from our bill. I had looked forward to dining at Houston-White for some time but it is now a one and done experience.

Wow! What a delightful and delicious dinner! It's definitely worth the $. Very high end but you get what you pay for!
Great food, service, and atmosphere
Wonderful sitter and hostess! So friendly
Ordered beef carpaccio, it looked great but was so salty, I had to send it back, and of course, it came out not salty enough. Oysters Rockefeller had an odd presentation. They baked the oysters (plain) first and then loaded the top with a pound of spinach and the hollandaise. There was bacon in it, too, which I didn't like. It was as if they were trying to cover up old oysters. My friend, who is in the business, said the filet was not the stated weight, not to mention it was overcooked. When you pay a lot of money, you expect things to be perfect. The staff was very accommodating.
Houston White came highly recommended by a sales rep at local builder Schell Brothers. As someone who loves to support locally owned and operated businesses, I was eager to give it a try. Nestled in the heart of Rehoboth Beach’s downtown shopping and dining area, this small gem boasts a beautiful dining space and a quaint bar.
We started with the cheddar bread, which was so good we took home what we didn't eat. The craft gin cocktails were balanced and perfectly flavored, setting the tone for a delightful culinary experience. I started with a bowl of potato soup, which was packed with flavor yet not too heavy—perfect for a cold, rainy February day. This was followed by the Caesar salad, a known specialty. The greens were fresh, and the dressing struck the perfect balance of flavor and consistency without overwhelming the salad.
For the main course, I enjoyed a 6oz filet mignon with au poivre sauce. The steak melted in my mouth, and the sauce added an extra layer of enjoyment. My wife ordered the mushroom risotto, which was wine-based and darker than she expected. If you prefer a white-sauce risotto, you might want to choose something else. However, the risotto was perfectly cooked, showcasing the chef’s expertise.
I look forward to returning to this small business when I visit Rehoboth Beach again, hopefully on a warm day when I can stroll around after a fine meal and enjoy the local shops. I highly recommend patronizing this local gem and supporting local businesses. You’ll be glad you did.
