Had the Yellow Thai Curry and the Caesar Salad. Very good, better than you might expect and as good as any Thai restaurant (I don't yet know the kitchen staff, but you learn by eating.) Server was attentive and also very busy; still good. This restaurant spot has found its audience and will please you, I think.

On a recent trip to Rehoboth Beach my daughter and I wandered the avenue looking for a place to have dinner. It was then we realized that the main street parking required either a credit card or cash(coins) of which we had neither on us, so we were headed back to the hotel when we spotted a parking lot and decided whatever eatery it was this would be our dining for the eve. Well it must have been fate for us to end up at the the Port 251- the food was amazing and ambiance enjoyable-a jazz ensemble. I had a crab cake and steak combo with mashed potatoes and corn on the cob- my daughter enjoyed a salmon dish. The crab cake was one of the best i've tasted.

My husband and I were in Saturday 9/17 1:30 PM and I ordered the Strawberry Salad. It looked good enough until I came to the end and found a silver 1 inch screw laying at the bottom. The waitress said they didn’t know where it came from and It will be something funny I can look back on and talk about. So, I thought why not share my “funny experience” here incase this isn’t the first time this has happened to someone!

COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT in every way! Drove past this place dozens of time admiring the location and music. First, the seats are extremely uncomfortable - tall plastic IKEA type stools not at all suited for dining. The food was awful - just awful! Port 251 is a drinking spot and they should give up serving food. From the moment we walked in the host said “are you having drinks today?” Then our waiter’s first words were “will you be drinking?”I ordered Chicken Romano and my wife ordered Butternut Squash Risotto. Both were completely bland with absolutely zero flavor. It all tasted like microwaved canned food. The cream of crab soup was SO salty it was hard to eat. The octopus which the waiter described as “calamari-like” was SO NOT. It was just boiled or steamed with a rather rank flavor and smell. We are not particularly picky eaters and we eat out in the Rehoboth/Lewes/Dewy area a great deal and we are almost always quite satisfied. I could not find a single redeeming part of this dinner other than the great location. Maybe we should have had a drink.

After walking a few miles in the morning my husband and I stopped here for a beverage and food. I had the stacked eggplant and couldn’t believe how delicious it was! Crispy breading with excellent marinara sauce. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and was shocked at the size of the roll. He expected something like an English muffin. Instead it was a fresh roll with two sausage patties and two eggs. He also had crispy home fries and pasta salad. All were excellent! It’s primarily a bar but the food here is top notch. Two thumbs up!

Thursday evening while looking for a new restaurant to try, we walked passed Port 251 and decided to have dinner. This was a poor decision. The restaurant was not busy at 6:30pm and that should have been our first warning. The hostess was an older woman who was lovely. She appeared to be the only front facing employee with any clue what the hospitality business entails. Our party of five was seated, the hostess gave us menus and then the ordeal began. Eventually our server came over and instantly we could tell something was seriously amiss with him. He seemed completely lost and disinterested in his job. His first comments to us were " I'm a terrible server, oh look, there goes the owner" and then just mumbled for a bit and walked away. He would return five minutes later to talk again till we reigned him in and ordered drinks. One person in our party is pregnant and ordered a virgin cocktail to which our server demanded she pay full price (sans alcohol) and questioned her as to why did she want a virgin drink in a highly unprofessional manner. Once the drinks came we made sure that our server took our order since we had already been there for a while and felt that if he left the table again, given his erratic behavior and lack of hospitality, that we would never get a food order in. We ordered appetizers. The bruschetta (decent), the ceviche (basically one shrimp drowning in tomato salsa), the mussels (unpleasantly salty) and a soup that didnt show up. We didn't bother to ask our server because he was unavailable and if the other apps were any indication, it too would be subpar. Our main dishes took forever to arrive. Our server most likely forgot them Like he did one round of cocktails. One of us ordered the caprese stack But was given a strawberry salad instead. At this point we just wanted to leave and asked for the bill. When the bill came, so did our soup! We looked at him in disbelief as he said "oh do you still want this? I totally forgot". We declined his offer and was told he would remove it from the bill. When he finally got around to bringing out the bill, the soup was still there as well as the strawberry salad. It was comical how terrible he was. Sadly the food wasn't much better than the service. I would never recommend Port 251

I used to work here for port 251 it's absolutely disgusting In the kitchen things are constantly heated and put back into the walk in until the next day a majority of things are served until moldy and sometimes if moldy the moly pieces are picked out to save money chicken, shell fish, hamburger are all stored in the same area as well as touched by employees whom don't wash hands after handing the raw food the ice maker in the back of the kitchen hasn't been cleaned in at least 3 months since I have worked there and it's filled with black mold and other bacteria's that are orange in color I wouldn't ever eat here the constant crass contaminating or the raw chicken and other meats all around plated food scares me don't eat here if you have allergies to anything and don't eat here unless your willing to play a game of Russian roulette with your life and health

Man! This place was great! My husband and I came to Rehobeth Beach for the weekend and stumbled upon this place for lunch. It was fantastic! Great food, quick service, our server Jill was the best! We decided we liked it so much we went to Drag brunch and hung with a great crowd, including the owner and Jill, the server from the 1st time we came! Definitely a go to place while you're down! We hope to come back again soon!

Stopped in on the Monday night steak special: filet, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob for $20. Top it off with live music from the 5th Avenue Jazz Trio, and you have yourself a date nite. Wide open, great weather, good food and service.
