The food was excellent and even on a busy. Ight our server had plenty of time for us. Great experience we will go back
Excellent as always: outstanding sushi, great service, and quiet comfortable ambience. Thank you!!
My family and i love this place. we go all time and every new years. not sure what happen but our experience last night was bad. the server was wonderful but our reservation was 7:45pm we didn't leave until 10:15! food took forever and it wasn't just us. seemed like a kitchen issue. my husband got the hibachi his soup& salad that comes first didn't come until after he ate and it was cold. my mom got a steak well done - when received finally it was very rare. she sent it back and took another 10-15min. food was good as usual but the wait for it was kind of crazy!
Understood this was a holiday evening. And the restaurant was visibly understaffed. However there were a couple of staff that just stood at the greeter's stand, who could have easily helped with water refills, delivering menus, taking drink reorders. Two entrees were excellent and the others were excessively dry (guessing they were prepped early and sat while others were made). Service was slow and inconsistent. Again, probably because it was a holiday, but still, the staff standing at the front counter coupe have likely pitched in. The couple next to us was seated and never visited again, even for water, for over thirty minutes. The server said they would “be right back” and we never saw them again before we left. Sadly the sushi was fresh and exceptional. But the overall value missed the mark. Soup and salad came out after two of the entrees.
I used to love Saketumi. Even though they are a bit pricier I felt the food was worth it until now. We had reservations for 3:30 on Christmas , got there a little earlier. We had to wait to get our appetizers. Finally I got the manager to get them for us. Then we had to wait awhile to get our entrees. Again the manager had to get them. Our food was probably sitting a bit in the kitchen because they were not as hot as should be. I ordered the Tai basil shrimp with chili peppers on the side. I didn't get chili pepper at all but that was ok. Halfway though eating I realized my plate was just onions and shrimp so the red and green peppers were missing too. The server said she would get me red and green peppers but at that point it was too late. My food was cold by then. Then when we got the bill I was over charged for my meal. I was charged $25 instead of $23 and what was written on the menu. They were going to give me $2 back but I didn't bother. So Christmas was disappointing and will not be going back. My husband wasn't pleased with his dinner either
They have the best sushi and appetizers around! Our server was also terrific. An overall great experience and we can't wait to go back.
Delicious sushi, loved our waitress....but no mention of the birthday boy? That was kind of disappointing.
Food tasted good, but very overpriced. Very small portions for high prices. Not a good value. The soup appetizer was mostly all broth with 3 shrimp for 6.50. Everything is sized tiny so you have to keep ordering multiple items.
Disappointed. This was our go to place for fine Asian cuisine (not much available in the Lewes area). Last night’s dinner was a significant shortfall. Portions have been reduced (one dish served on shredded lettuce to give the appearance of “more” and another with half the plate being broccoli). Additionally, serving “reheated and stale” brown rice a poor showing. Icing on the cake was the salad served with a blonde hair on top of it in clear view (my wife and step daughter are Asian so clearly not the source). A real lack of attention to detail. Hopefully this criticism will be taken constructively as it’s our last hope for near-authentic Asian cuisine.

First time and will be the last time. Our server was nice but the food is horrendous. Dim Sum appetizer was mushy and lacked flavor. The fried wonton were greasy and flavorless. Don't get me started on the sushi. The rice was a weird color of brown. It looked like and smelled like it was leftover from last night. We didn't finish it, too scared to get food poisoning. The decor is dated and in need of a good cleaning. Do not waste your time here.

Ordered chicken and shrimp teriyaki with broccoli. Chicken was dry shrimp was fine. Wouldn't order again.
Wonderful food. Sushi/Sashimi Boat is perfect. Service is excellent and we even caught the latter part of Happy Hour. We love Saketumi
We came in on 9/26/2025 at 5:30 pm. (Myself & my husband).
We were sat down & quickly ordered our food. I’ve been coming here since I was a child, and already knew what I wanted.
About 10 minutes late, our appetizer had came out, and my sushi roll. I ordered the hibachi steak, and normally I eat the miso soup with my sushi roll, but the miso soup and the salad never arrived. We waited… and waited……….. and waited….. and waited…. Waited some more…. Then finally…. No miso soup, no salad, no entrees arrived after an entire hour. Was the place busy? Moderately. Were we in a rush? No..
So finally, she comes to the table, and asks “are you ready?”
………..
Am I ready for what?
The food I ordered an hour ago?
Well, I would think I’m ready for the food I ordered an hour ago?
So, I said yes. She gave me a weird face and said “I wasn’t sure if you guys were ready”……..
Why would I not be ready???????………….
So, we got up and left. I lost my appetite at this point… and the Japanese manager was just as rude and lost as the server was. He looked like he had just landed on planet Jupiter and did not know what to say. I don’t even know if he understood my clear English explanation.
I will never return, and neither should you. The food is not even what it was 10 years ago.

We got about 10 different rolls and honestly they were all very good and I feel that’s rare that every roll is a hit.

We eat at saketumi often and it never disappoints. Our server was terrific and so was the food. Saketumi is our favorite sushi spot at the beach.
