We've had outstanding food here in the past, but sadly they were closed for the season this time. Appreciate the response from the restaurant.

If you have all the time on the world to kill on a Sunday morning, breakfast at Sammie’s is for you. You will join the community of tables around you filled with hungry customers. Enjoy three coffee refills as the waitress walks around with regular and decaf, dispensing apologies. And when you’re FINALLY served, say nothing about the soggy, floppy “toast” or you’ll miss the dog parade. Shout out to the ladies next to us who shared a piece of bacon.
If you can’t handle the crowd, Sammie’s, then don’t open. NONE of us will be coming back.

Literally the worst turkey melt I’ve ever had. Processed meat on cheap bread with processed cheese. Looks like something my toddler could make. Not even the seagulls would eat it. Never Adi.

I had high hopes for Sammy's but, unfortunately the food was nearly inedible. I ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs and pancakes. My wife ordered an egg white spinach and feta omelet with rye toast. The food was ready quickly but my wife's eggs were runny and had no feta. The waitress took the eggs and brought it back claiming the eggs were new. They were not, they sprinkled feta on them and were cold. The buttered rye toast was not buttered nor rye. I thought I had insulted someone because my biscuits could have been used to break the window for they were hard and old. The water was dirty and smelled. The pancakes were okay but couldn't make up for the disaster of the rest of the meal. Will not be going back and will definitely be letting our friends and followers know as well.

The wait staff is very sweet and do a great job. However, the cook, NOT GOOD at all! I ordered an egg white omelet with spinach and feta with rye toast. When the waitress brought it out I was excited to eat because the presentation was beautiful. But once I had my first bite the egg whites were extremely runny and there was no feta in sight. I told the waitress and she said she will take it back and have them add the feta. She brought it back saying they made a new omelet. I thanked her and I noticed it was just the same omelet with feta sprinkled on top. If it was a new omelet it was just as runny as the previous one. By the way they also didn't give me rye bread, they gave me pumperknickle instead. I wasn't able to eat any of my breakfast 😕 my husband ordered the eggs with sausage biscuits and the biscuits were extremely hard. He tried using the fork and knife to cut the biscuits and it was really hard to cut when he finally got to cut the biscuit broke off and when he bit down they crunched like he was eating gravel! I felt bad for our waitress she was so sweet and tried to be helpful. We were looking for a place to return to with our family and friends when we move here and this is definitely not going to be our place!!! You need a better cook, don't use week old biscuits and if you don't know how to make a simple omelet, I don't know what to say. Sad, very sad 😔

Food was good, toast was cold. Once I was done three waitresses asked me within 10 minutes if I needed a refill of ice tea which made me feel a little rushed, but I'm interpreting this as just making sure I didn't need anything.

What a great place to have a meal. After a long bike ride down from Lewes, we were tired and hungry. Excellent food, great prices and the staff was friendly and engaging. Sammy told me that he's been in business for 27 years, and I can certainly understand why he's been successful. Thanks for a great meal experience.

Sammy's is fast and efficient. Includes standard Diner fare, but does it well. Pancakes have a good buttermilk flavor, though could be a little fluffier, fruit is surprisingly fresh and tasty. Waffles are crispy in the outside and soft on the inside. Bacon cooked perfectly in my opinion - has just the right mixture of crispiness with cheweyness. Have eaten here several times in the past, and always had great service. This has been the staple for breakfast for us since 2013.

Went here for brunch while on vacation with my boyfriend. The environment was very warm and welcoming and the staff as sweet as could be. Food was nice and warm and the pancakes super fluffy. I got the pancake combo which was a 10/10 in my book. Eggs cooked perfectly and the bacon just heavenly. My boyfriend got the Sammy’s combo. The cappuccino he got he mentioned was a bit too sweet for his liking but I found my vanilla latte to be a prefect mix of creamy and sweet. Both of us were plenty satisfied with our meals and definitely will return again our next visit to the beach.
