The Secret Sauce Thai Kitchen

Loved the yellow curry but the other dishes fell flat on flavor!

We spent a weekend in Rehoboth and had a craving for Thai food. After a quick Google search, we found a place called Secret Sauce with a 4.7-star rating, so we decided to give it a try. When we arrived, the restaurant was bustling with patrons, but no one was at the door to greet or seat us. All the servers seemed busy either taking orders or cleaning tables. We waited with an older couple who arrived after us, hoping someone would acknowledge us, but after about five minutes, the couple left. Still eager for Thai food, we stayed and eventually approached a server, who directed us to someone else.

Realizing the staff seemed overwhelmed, we opted for takeout and ordered the Pineapple Fried Rice and Green Curry with Avocado to enjoy at our hotel. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to our expectations. The Green Curry with Avocado was overly sweet and lacked flavor, more reminiscent of rice pudding than curry, and we couldn’t finish it. The Pineapple Fried Rice was just okay, but also on the sweet side. While the atmosphere and food were disappointing, the staff was courteous, and we appreciate their efforts despite being short-staffed, so we’re rating the service at five stars.

Center ceiling lights are too bright; it would give a warmer atmosphere if they were slightly dimmed.

Good Thai food. They are benefitting from the lack of competition. Weekend nights they are very busy but they don't have a hostess organizing things. So it's an honor system with no management.

Just had my first meal from The Secret Sauce Thai Kitchen and it was fantastic! What a find here in Rehoboth. Have had great Thai food from my travels in the DC area, and my dish (curry chicken mango) rivals the best. Can’t wait for a return trip to this hidden gem.

Amazing Vegan food, great flavors! I cannot speak for anything else on the menu, but their vegan dishes are wonderful.

Great spot. Fair prices and the food is excellent. Thai is hard to find down here. I like Sticky Rice but they have gotten super expensive and this place is just as good if not better. Much nicer restaurant too. Super nice staff too.

Delicious!!!!! Great food, quick pickup, we did order at 8pm. Delicious Tom Yum soup and green curry, perfect complex flavor snd spice level. Hit the spot, so satisfying!

My partner and I both had the mixed vegetable dish. I had wanted the eggplant with basil and tofu, but we were told nothing could be modified to be vegan. So out of the four vegan choices, I ordered the mixed vegetables because she said I could add the eggplant and basil. We both ordered our meals with medium heat. I also asked if it came with tofu, she said it’s an up charge. Weirdly enough non vegan meals came with a choice of tofu. Our meals were practically tasteless. And there was no spice in the dishes at all. We had to add a lot of sriracha to add some flavor. There was barely any basil or eggplant in my dish for an additional $5.00. When I mentioned the food lacked flavor, she said that’s because it was made vegan. The two meals definitely were not worth $38.00.

This is a small dining room in an unobtrusive strip off Rt 1 near Rehoboth Beach DE. I am a foodie, have eaten in a lot of cities, and this one was the surprise I didn't know I needed.

The Pad Thai was the best I have had in my life, and their take on Avocado Curry was nothing short of delicious.

I also had a Cucumber Ginger Martini which convinced me that I was wrong about the flavor combination being a little strange - not only was it a fantastic take on Martini but imthe flavors complimented my food very well which I was not expecting.

The service was very pleasant. This place can get very busy, so be kind to your wait staff.

The atmosphere can get a little energetic when the room is packed, but that is just because it is small and people are really enjoying their meal and time together at The Secret Sauce Thai Kitchen.

We liked it so much that we another dinner there the following weekend when we were back in town. I can't wait to go back again.

The food is incredible. We had the secret sauce roll, the fried tofu, the pineapple curry, and the basil eggplant.

Everything was top notch. The peanut sauce might be the best I’ve ever had. The food was fast and fresh. Kay was our server and she made sure we had everything we needed and was so kind.

I highly recommend coming here!! I wish I had taken pictures but the food looked and smelled so good that we dug right in. We will be coming back!
