Don't know what the hype is about. I have had much better fries. I guess it's the ocean boardwalk environs and the history of the place.The fries were dark and soggy , slightly burnt, pricey . Some people might like it like that, not me. No ketchup or other condiments present other than vinegar (??).

A Rehoboth boardwalk classic, but perhaps overhyped. These are fries in the you can still see the potato/real good vein, which I appreciate! However, I found these too oily, under flavored, and overall eh. The kids working the stand couldn't be nicer, which is why I give it 3 stars instead of 2.

I've been eating Thrasher's fries for over 40 years. My first exposure was on the boardwalk in Ocean City. I couldn't understand why everyone stood in line for French fries. Then I made it to the front, ordered a small, sprinkled on the vinegar (which was already my favorite way to eat fries), and instantly wished I had ordered a medium. A visit to OC wasn't a visit without at least one trip to Thrasher's. Fast forward 40+ years and I now frequent Lewes and Rehoboth, DE. While I don't always get to Thrashers every time I'm in town, I'm there many times every year. Very very very rarely are the fries less than perfect. 97% of the time they're crispy on the outside, hot and fluffy in the inside, and overflowing the cup. They are the ultimate boardwalk fries. The flavor of the potatoes, the taste of the oil, the acid kick from the vinegar, the perfect sprinkle of salt . . . . The 3% of the time they're not perfectly crispy, they're still really tasty. Don't even let ketchup come into your mind. They don't have it and you don't want to ruin this awesome beach tradition with any condiments other than the vinegar and salt. There's often a line but it moves relatively quickly. There's no need to panic when you get to the front of the line, there are only a few options. Pick the size of your fries and decide if you want soda or water (you don't need any to be honest - unless you're thirsty). If you want, there are combo options. This not just a cup of fries. This is a beach goer tradition. Be part of that tradition and get the fries with the vinegar and the sprinkle of salt.

This place always has a long line but for good reason. These fries are delicious. And don't worry the line moves fast. Freshly made, crispy on the outside and practically melts in your mouth - these boardwalk fries are it. I highly recommend as it is a boardwalk must have.
Fries are delicious. But not offering ketchup is bizarre to me. That is all I have to say.

This place has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We ordered fries and a few drinks. The guy working the register barely acknowledged us and rarely made eye contact. He acted like he hated his job, and we were inconveniencing him. When I asked for a receipt, he did not acknowledge and walked away to get our drinks. When he returned, he just gave the drinks and moved on to something else. Don't waste your time here. The food is not worth the terrible service.

Tasty. Very tasty. We had to try some - very glad we did. We got our order and went and sat on a bench overlooking the ocean. We did purchase the souvenir cup and got a refill - it’s a fair deal. If you are reading this - yes, order some fries
