I've moved down here from Wilmington 10 years ago and have been in search of an Authentic Italian Restaurant since then. Today, I stopped in Sal's and as soon as I hit door the authentic aromas of the Italian spices filled the air. There had been so many items to choose from , but I wanted to try their pizza. I'm glad I did. We ended up getting a Silician Pie with Meatball topping. From the fresh mozzarella, to the sauce, all the way to the homemade dough was superb. Lexi, our waitress, was amazing as well. We met Sal and he was wonderful! Everything was wonderful! We will be back. So I ordered a meat lasagna to go and when they handed me the bag I thought it felt very light. I opened it up and started laughing, it literally looked like they threw one noodle in the bowl, threw a little meat around the side and put some sauce on top of it. The only reason they are getting two stars is the red sauce is quite good. I will usually try a restaurant twice before I write them off but not sure if I will go back here.
The staff are friendly and professional while doing a great job of making delicious meals. The restaurant was clean and simply a relaxed atmosphere.
