“I came to Metro Diner this morning off the humbug. I was starving & was craving some chicken & waffles from somewhere close in the area. Surprisingly the chicken was very seasoned and crispy. The waffles were also very tasty and soft. The strawberry butter mixed with their signature hot sauce was also pretty good. Alicia was my server. She was such a doll :) Her knowledge of the menu is impeccable and she took very good care of me. If you are in the Newark area and would like some tasty and quick diner food, go there & ask for Alicia <3 Thanks Alicia will be there again real soon !”

“my friend and I had lunch here with our little ones today (2 and 5) i picked here because i knew they would be child friendly.because lets be honest you never know what's going to happen taking toddlers to a restaurant. they were well behaved but i want to give a huge shout-out to our amazing server Zuri. Hands down the best waitress ive ever had in a restaurant. She was polite, attentive, and had great positive vibes from her all around. My go-to bowl is the Tropical Açaí bowl…and a close 2nd is the Pura Vida Açaí bowl.

The only thing I could say negative…and it isn’t a negative at all, is I wish they had a smaller size bowl available. The bowl is almost a meal in itself. If there was a bowl that had 50-60% the size of the current bowl, it would be a great desert.

“We recently had dinner here. The food was excellent but the service was slow and we missed our usual server Murphy who was off. Murphy is awesome and her customer service is impeccable. The owner was gracious enough to reach out to me personally to explain that the oven was not working properly that evening. That was the reason for the long wait time for food. Everyone here generally cares about the customer and goes to great lengths to make sure you’re taken care of. Despite the oven setback the food was still good and the drinks as well.”

“Had a great meal at ugly dumpling, greeted with great service right away! Service was personable and accommodating to my stroller and a high chair for toddler. The establishment is extremely clean and beautifully designed. Waitress was helpful in assisting with menu, family style small plates, 3-4 plates for a couple suggested. We loved the dumplings with spicy sauce on side and sesame noodles. So fun to see everyone working on hundreds of beautiful, delicate, and delicious dumplings! 🥟 thank you ugly dumpling team!”
