My parents went yesterday for a special wedding anniversary and the experience was so bad that my mother left in tears after cocktails. No heat, paper menus reduced to three food options, and the staff felt so bad that they were suggesting my parents would be better to just leave and go to a different restaurant. The manager was hidden in his office playing on his phone during a Saturday night service. Who ran this place into the ground? This used to be our family’s go to celebration spot. On a related note, I called about booking an office holiday party recently and the manager was extremely rude - he treated me like a pain for asking about a group reservation and scolded me for suggesting a Monday since they are closed. He was very happy to tell me that they couldn’t help me- which makes sense now, since they couldn’t even serve a party of two on their special day. Luckily, Vicente's went out of their way to make their night special after At the Rail did their best to ruin it.
Our bartender was amazing! We were there during happy hour, so the prices were so cheap!! The food was amazing. The drinks were amazing. Definitely would come back again!! The cheeseburger sliders, perfect bacon cheddar fries perfect cheesesteak eggrolls delicious. French martini delicious only problem. The menu said they had blue moon on draft and they didn't but we made due.
The Rail is totally run down since I last visited 10 years ago. Dinner menu now consists of only 3 items. Don't go!!!
My husband and made reservations for what we thought was a brunch buffet. The website is outdated and they don't currently offer a buffet. We had lunch off the menu. We adored the risotto ball appetizer. My chicken salad sandwich was delicious and my husband enjoyed the burger he had. I was not fond of the coleslaw side, but that's more because I don't enjoy vinegar dressing than any actual issue. Overall a very nice meal.
First time visit this place with terrible experience had a piece of plastic inside my bowl of soup when I tried to shoved into my mouth. And prime rib looked like a rubber sandal can’t even cut it off and asked server to took it back. The worst part I don’t care they took the meals off but it’s about courtesy where there’s no action from the m manager come to us concerned about the issue from their except they gave us crème brûlée as an apology gesture. Service is excellent but the quality of foods awful.

We have been loyal customers for over 12 years. Over the years for the moat part the bartenders have been amazing! Laura and Casey are the best! When we come in, if Laura is not the bartender we do not normally stay (unless Casey is on).

The Rail has been one of our reliable "go-to" restaurants for close to "fine-dining" experience in the Christiana area, often for business meals and out of town guests. This week, The Rail fell way short of expectations. The menus were cheaply printed on poor quality paper and "well used." The food choices were very limited, only a handful of meal entrees, and the prices were cut off the edge of the menu! Service was slow slow slow, despite there being only a few tables; in fact, a table of 6 got up and left before ordering or being served, I think they gave up. I really hope The Rail gets back its mojo.... used to be great, not so much right now
When we arrived, we were told they were short staffed and we would have wait. However, the service was great and the wait short. Our server was cheerful and attentive even though she had the entire dining room to serve. She took our orders, served our food and kept our drinks filled without asking. It was 1/2 price burger day and the burgers were delicious. Highly recommend lunch at the Rail.
The food and service was very good! We enjoyed!

The food was horrible.... The salad was a bowl of lettuce, nothing else. The scrambled eggs were hard, not at all fluffy, the French toast casserole tasted and looked like it was made with breadcrumbs, the oysters on the half shell were opened way to early, not plump at all and were not disconnected from the shell. If you're going to have Prime Rib, carve it to order not sliced in a chaffing dish with a thick gravy on it....The platter of smoked salmon had no accompaniments, just salmon. The desserts that should have been served cold (cheesecake etc, were very warm. It was a waste of money. The waitress and the manager, Matt were very nice.

By far the worst buffet for mother's day I ever had. Surely not like last year where I raved about this place. Doughnuts were stale, waffles uneatable There was no ham or prime rib that was sliced in front of you. No gravy, no bisquits, no french toast. No tomato juice. And the best? one had to get their own coffee in a plastic cup.. Salad consisted of the old green and purple lettuce. Nothing to put on it. No crutons, no carrots, no peppers, NOTHING. It was just horrible. NEVER AGAIN. they should be ashamed of themselves.
This is probably the worst place to have a relaxing meal and a few drinks. Members at the bar were loud and obnoxious and apparently this behavior is tolerated simply because they are members. We won’t be back again and if you’re thinking about having an event here, think again. Absolutely terrible.

Food is good. Atmosphere is good. But there are 17 empty tables and it takes 20 minutes to order then wait on a drink order.

3 out of 4 meals had issues. Ceasar salad wasnt a Ceasar salad Chicken Parmeasean chicken breasr was gristle hard rolls had to be requested. Had to wait for refills. Clearly server didnt know menu, inadequately oriented inexperienced. Manager failed to train properly and provide adequate oversight. In future we wont do dinner but we will sit at bar and have burger at best.
