We had an excellent experience at Bank's. We enjoyed shrimp boil, crab cakes, cod, and clams casino. We will return again soon!
The 2 1/2 lb lobster in the raw was tough, the shell was extremely tough. The shell cracking tool was way too small to crack the jaws.
I enjoyed my Clams Casino for starters, but my husband did not, he thought they were too big and chewy. But our entrees were both good. I had Lobster Bibb Salad, he had broiled scallops, and we shared a side order of fries. The service was good, the bar orders were a bit slow, especially that second glass of wine. But overall it was a good place to have dinner before seeing a show at the Delaware Theater Company next door.
We sat outdoors by the river on a perfect early evening. Drinks with a dozen oysters to start. We shared the clams casino as an app. Crispy bacon on roasted clams. Great combo. 6 clams is enough to share. We debated on soft shell crabs or a crab cake as a shared main and the waiter suggested that we get one crab and one crab cake on two plates. Perfect way to share. Professional service. Excellent food. Great outdoor space. Ideal!!
What's better than dinner at Banks'? Dinner on the patio at Banks'!! Now that the weather is warmer, we can enjoy our favorites like clams casino and snapper ceviche outside along the Christina River.
The food was excellent - crab cake on a salad, raw bar, homemade bread. Server was very attentive and kind. The cocktails weren't excellent, but good. Very lively band was playing just outside bar area. so if you want to have a productive conversation dont sit in the bar area when they have live music.
We read the menu on the way there and couldn't wait to order a bunch of the items. They have great ideas but unfortunately, not great execution. We got an oyster soup, the “oyster pan roast”, that really tasted as if it was tomato soup from a can. One of the oysters had a very unwelcome creamy inside. The ahi tuna crisps were pretty good but just not quite what we were expecting. Its more of a nacho situation complete with lettuce. The look of the crab cake is not appetizing but was probably the best thing we ate.
Food is good, atmosphere is really nice, service is exceptional!! Tyson was our server; friendly, efficient, attentive.
Food at Banks is always excellent! The gracious hostess, Jada greets us so warmly. Professional wait staff never miss a beat. They know the menu, the service is attentive but not intrusive. It's our favorite place to dine and celebrate.
The service was amazing and the food was outstanding. I particularly loved the trout dish, and we all loved the lobster mushroom soup. We had a wonderful conversation with the Executive Chef and Owner, David Banks.

Our server, Marisa, was professional, personable and attentive. The food was excellent and we were served in plenty of time to get to the theatre around the corner for that evening's performance. The box of truffles as an anniversary gift was a nice - and delicious - surprise. We'll definitely be back.
Excellent food, cocktails and service. We couldn't have asked for better. Had never had the Seafood Nachos before and was very pleased to try them now. The leftovers were perfect in the air fryer after coming home.
I recently dined at Banks in Wilmington, DE, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. We ordered the ahi tuna tartare, blackened tuna tacos, and fish and chips. Overall, the food was very good. The ahi tuna tartare was fresh and flavorful, while the blackened tuna tacos offered a perfect blend of spice and freshness. The fish and chips were a standout, especially with the hand-cut fries that were crispy and well-seasoned. It was clear that fresh ingredients were used in all the dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The location of Banks is a major highlight, situated right next to the scenic Riverwalk. After our meal, we took a leisurely stroll along the river, which added a pleasant and relaxing element to our visit. Another bonus was the ease of parking—quite a welcome change coming from Philly.
Banks is also attached to the Riverfront Market, a well-known tourist spot in Wilmington. While the market itself leaves a bit to be desired, it’s convenient to have it nearby for a quick browse before or after your meal.
In summary, Banks offers a great dining experience with its fresh ingredients, tasty dishes, and prime location along the Riverwalk. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area and looking for a casual meal with a scenic backdrop.

The food at Banks is always amazing. Try the Ahi and the fish tacos. They are so tasty and the tortillas are made in house. The ambiance is wonderful and it's right on the water, so on a sunny day, you can sit outside and enjoy the views and the meal.
The service was Great. The concierge tall thin pretty female was extremely nice. Patrick was a great host/server. The crab soup was fair. The seafood nachos were pretty good but the tuna was a little dried out. My salmon was pretty good. I loved the bread and butter. The garlic mashed potatoes were good. I like my mashed potatoes a little more lumpy but that's my personal preference. We sat outsid and had a nice view of the water
