Hair in my muffin Really!!! This bakery is down the street from my job I will stop before work every once in a while. Today was that day. I got a cinnamon Blueberry muffin. It was so dry it’s falling apart. The reason for this review. I’m have way through this muffin and I find Fing Hair!!!

I ordered a cake from Cakes by Kim LLC, Wilmington, DE for my granddaughter’s 1st birthday, and it was a complete disappointment. When I picked it up, it looked great, but within 15 minutes of getting home, it had melted almost completely! I paid $108 for a 6-inch buttercream cake, and it was completely ruined before we even had a chance to celebrate.
When I called the bakery, I was passed between three different people over the course of 30 minutes. Instead of taking any responsibility or offering a solution, they just made excuse after excuse. They claimed my cake had been refrigerated for hours and that it was “impossible” for it to melt that quickly—but anyone who knows cakes knows that a properly refrigerated buttercream cake would NOT melt like that. After basically telling me they weren’t going to do anything about it, the manager hung up on me.
This was a terrible experience, both with the cake and the customer service. For the price I paid, I expected better quality and at least some accountability. I will never order from them again, and I highly recommend going somewhere else if you want a reliable bakery that stands behind their work. The pictures below of the $108 cake is after me trying to smooth it out a little bit to make it look a little decent which there was no help for it. it was very frustrating and upsetting how these so called professionals treated a new customer.

The cake was awful, and the owner’s attitude was even worse. It’s clear why this business struggles—when faced with negative reviews, they argue and get defensive instead of addressing the feedback. The owner lacks professionalism and produces low-quality cakes. Honestly, you're better off buying a cake from Costco at a fraction of the price. Cakes by Kim? More like cons by Kim.

The cake was horrible, I'm not sure what that cake was made from ,but for 200 dollars and a tip it's the worst cake I've ever tasted.....Im so disappointed because I finally did not want a grocery store baked item as this was a very special occasion. I know you guys have a no refund policy, however this should be quite thee exception!! It's A no for us.😥

I contacted several bakeries and Cakes by Kim was immediately responsive to my email. They were able to get us a custom cake within just a few weeks for our pastor's anniversary cake. We sent an inspiration photo and they were able to bring it to life. We did delivery service and they were amazing! Not only did all our guests enjoy the cake but they enjoyed the gorgeous design of the cake. Thank you so much! The cake was so moist and the light frosting we went with - everyone kept on talking about! If you're looking for a cheap cake, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a quality cake maker who will bring your desire to life, call them today!

Their pastries are excellent. Got there right before closing on Saturday, and they were able to make taylor made cupcakes with fresh strawberries and cream . Also got awesome fresh danishes, cheesecake , donuts, cookies & puffpastries. Simply delicious.
Lesson learned, do not buy pie from an establishment specializing in cake! They were horrible. I purchased 2 pumpkin and 2 sweet potato pies for Thanksgiving at $22 a piece. The pumpkin tasted awful. All of our guests who tasted it mentioned both the consistency and taste were off as if a key ingredient(s) may have been omitted. No one had more than two bites. The second pie went in the trash untouched. Our guests opinion of the sweet potato pie was it was overly sweet with a hint of sweet potato rather than sweet potato being the main ingredient. No one finished a slice and the second pie also went in trash untouched. $88 in the trash!

We recently got our wedding cake from Cakes by Kim and would highly recommend it! Our cake was beautiful and elegant, exactly how we envisioned it looking. More importantly, it was also absolutely delicious! we loved all three flavors we chose and received a lot of compliments.

Kim was so so nice to us. When we went for our wedding cake tasting, she made us feel so welcome and treated us like family. We were so impressed with her cakes and decided to use four flavors for our wedding. Our guests loved them and it made our day that much more special. If you are looking for something at the scale of a wedding or even something small, I would absolutely recommend Kim!
