We had a lovely family dinner for my birthday! All of the food was incredible and wait staff was fabulous.
This is a neighborhood gem. From the professional and pleasant front desk team to the kind and always helpful servers, to the kitchen staff who deliver tasty and consistent meals every single time. The Columbusb Inn provides solid and enjoyable experiences. The food is always fresh and flavorful. You are met and left with smiles. We only ever wish that the menu could hold more specials. But even if that never happens, they'll have our business. See you again soon!
We've eaten at this restaurant for over 30 years and never been disappointed. We dined there for a birthday celebration and had several issues with the food. The service was outstanding and we couldn't fault the waiter for the kitchen misses. 1) Caesar Salad: creamy dressing that needed acid and more anchovy. In a blind taste test, I would never have identified this salad as a Caesar Salad. The waiter did bring lemon wedges which greatly improved the taste of the salad. 2) Filet and crab cake Monday night special. Filet came rare when ordered medium rare and barely any sauce at all so dry overall. Crab cake was delicious but bare...no lemon wedge which was atypical for most crab cake presentations I've eaten. and I thought that despite it's creamy interior with lots of crab, it still would have benefited from a squeeze of lemon. My chocolate gelato was icy and not at all chocolaty and creamy; husbands mint chocolate chip was nice and creamy.
Excellent service from Jamie. Food was fine other than the Hawaii ribs and fried rice which was borderline inedible.
We had such a wonderful experience with Joe as our server for my birthday dinner. The food was absolutely divine, the service was top-notch, and the experience was amazing. Great options for non-alcoholic drinks also. Most of all, however, the value was tremendous. In Nashville where we're from, that would have been a $300 dinner. I would highly recommend Columbus Inn to anyone, and if we ever come back to Wilmington we will be sure to go again.
Happy hour menu is a very good deal. It's a good opportunity to sample portions of the menu. It even has a deal on crab cake sandwich and filet sandwich. We got cheesesteak spring rolls, meatballs special, pizza and 4 glasses of wine for $75. Everything came out promptly, hot and consistent with past experiences. Reservations are a must during happy hour
We went out for a light Saturday night dinner, we both had plenty to choose from. I had a crabcake sandwich that was delicious and the french fries were out of this world.
Awesome happy hour, my wife raves about the peel and eat shrimp! Must try the Buffalo Chicken Pizza!
As always excellent food and wonderful service. The arrogant cauliflower is so delicious. The shrimp cocktail is a must. Happy hour menu is amazing.
Wonderful meal! Food was excellent. Had 5 people in our party and everyone loved the food. Steak was cooked perfectly. Deserts were very unique and worth ordering even if you are full. Can't wait to go back!

The food was good and delivered hot. However, the waiter forgot our Salads and we were served our Entrees after our shared Appetizer. Told her we no longer wanted the salads and to remove the charge from our bill. When the bill arrived, the bottle of wine on the tab was $6.00 higher than shown on the Wine List ($86.00 vs. $80.00). BTW, one can buy Leviathan for $42.00 at many places. Also, the price for one of our cocktails was also jacked by $5.00 over the price printed on the drinks listing. This kind of "mistake" does NOT happen by accident! They are trying to rip off their customers, assuming at the end of a meal, no one is looking to compare prices on the tab to the menu, so quite underhanded. We will not be going back.
This was for a birthday celebration and the food and the service exceptional! Drinks and appetizers were delivered in a timely manner. Food was hot and delicious when delivered. Overall, a great experience.
The service was amazing we had the best waiter. The food was delicious so savory. Would definitely recommend and be back.
We had the greatest experience at Columbus Inn last night. It is our go to whenever we are in Wilmington, Delaware. We had the pork chop and the trout and it was absolutely delicious. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night our server Joe is outstanding! When we walk through the bar area, it is always a little bit too loud but other than that, it's our favorite place in town.
Great brunch experience at Columbus Inn (once again). Food and service were superb! We will be back after Labor Day!
