Looks like they are under new management and are now called Aurora's as of July 2025. Haven't tried the food yet but I came inside to say hello to the new owners and they were super nice. Bought a Jarritos and a La Guerrense ice cream bar. 10/10 siempre. Looking forward to many more great conversations and great meals!

Dog food! We ordered several dishes from work, nobody liked the most disgusting burrito I've ever eaten.
They don’t open up when they are supposed to it’s soo inconvenient
Excellent service and very delicious Mexican food. You also find Hispanic pantry products.
Nothing against them have a lot of good friends Mexican little kids running around Mexicans hanging out front no different from the other 100 that you see around you can get what you need or maybe one of the others they all got the same stuff. Everything marked up
This neighborhood eatery is okay. When in a pinch, it’s there, but not on the top of my list for “best quick Mexican food in the city of wilmington.” Well, if I had a list, this place would NOT be on it.Last time I was there, I got beef tacos. They laid a big thick slab of cheese on the taco that looked like mozzarella cheese on top. I was like ???not happy. I value outstanding tacos and this…was not it!

I was with a client who was desperately looking for a place to cash his check. After cashing out at the nearby United Cash Checking, we decided to enjoy ourselves by checking out El Amigo. I found a large, reasonably priced onion that I will use to make my chickpea curry.
They're are friendly people. I go there very often.
