The Green Room next door to Le Cavalier inside Hotel DuPont Wilmington, Delaware, offers an upscale and beautiful ambiance, perfect for a date or meeting loved ones. The drinks were delicious, creating a delightful experience. It's a lovely oasis to enjoy good company. Additionally, Hotel DuPont provides a luxurious stay with impeccable service and elegant surroundings. The combination of the Green Room's ambiance and Hotel DuPont's hospitality makes for a memorable experience

Went there on a Saturday because Valentine's day Wednesday was full. The waiter suggested I try this Flatbread appetizers so I had that and some more bread which was brought to my table after eating a bunch of bread I was full.I wanted the Halibut fish which was advertised as a Valentine's specialOnly to find out from the waiter when he returns to my table it was only offered on Wednesday. I preceded to take the suggestion to try Lamb it was ok.Ordered a glass of wine which was good ?Had desert which was ok ice-cream and small cookie waffer. We left went to valet only to find out I had to go to back inside after giving the valet 10.00 tip and pay additional 25.00 dollars to move my car only 20 ft. I thought that was a little to much. Won't return

Excellent service and menu. The grilled eggplant, steak tartare, onion soup, provençal hummus, duck cassoulet, and profiteroles were fantastic.

***I WILL NEVER SPEND ANOTHER DOLLAR IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT***My wife and I ate dinner at Le Cavalier on Friday, February 2, 2024 after visiting family in Wilmington. Our waiter was great & the food was good.During dinner, we noticed who we later learned was the assistant general manager (a female) going to tables in our immediate vicinity asking patrons how they were enjoying their meals. She NEVER acknowledged our presence despite speaking with a couple directly behind us and to a single male sitting directly next to us.Following drinks, dinner, desert, and coffee I informed the waiter that we had a $100 gift card we wished to apply to our bill. The waiter mentioned his manager would need to process the gift card.A few moments later, a manager (James?) walks directly behind me and rudely asks "if we are the ones with the gift card"? (Keep in mind, he never provided a greeting - i.e. "hello", nor did he introduce himself.)I provided him with the e-gift card from my email to which he replied, "how are you going to take care of the rest of the bill"? I reminded him "I had not been presented with the final bill and that I would take care of the balance like everyone else in the establishment". He shrugged his shoulders and asked again "how I planned to take care of the balance". Out of shear frustration, and desire NOT to make a scene, I provided him with my credit card to cover whatever outstanding balance there would be.James walked away with my credit card & a picture of our e-gift card he took on his iPhone. He returned from the register and aggressively placed the final receipt & credit card on our table. After signing the receipt, I went to the server station and asked to speak with James directly. I informed him that his behavior was rude & unprofessional. Additionally, I mentioned that my wife (an attorney) and I (a physician) routinely eat at the finest restaurants in and around our home in Washington DC. I stressed that we had NEVER been treated so unprofessionally, especially by a "manager".At the conclusion of our conversation, I informed James that I would never spend another dollar at La Cavalier and would encourage my friends & family to avoid this establishment.Overall, the managers (James & the female) on duty that evening were subpar and hopefully do not reflect the values of the ownership of La Cavalier.

Beautiful iconic hotel and gorgeous dining room. Food good to very good not great. This is a French brasserie but they have some work to do. Mussels delish! French onion soup good not great. Poached lobster had strong tarragon flavor. You do not have to worry about forgetting that you are in Wilmington and not France. No seafood fork served with mussels. Pommes frites undercooked. Supposed to come in a cone and a silver holder. Wait staff very nice but unfamiliar with the menu. Lamb dish was good. $15 dollars to park for diners. Valet. We came hoping to have the duck Provencal and branzino shown on website menu but wasn't on current menu. Some pluses are that it is a lovely atmosphere not crowded and noisy like many trendy places on sat nights. I saw all age groups....not only the under 35 set. You can really relax and talk and you ate not sitting super close to others.

We went here for dinner and breakfast. The food was good, but it took a little while to come. Nice atmosphere too.Wheelchair accessibility: My grandpa was in a wheelchair, but there was enough space to wheel him to our table.

A dark sad feeling this place left with me...We were given a gift certificate so that was the only reason we went. Our waiter was an older pushy guy...pushing us to orderThe food was pricey sub par imo. I am a good cook and it was like whoever is making the food here doesn't have passion for food but passion for only making money...Our gift certificate was for $200 and we had to spend another $200 on top of that for party of 4So, plan on at least $100 a person to drive to a cold dark city and not be able to park. The only interesting part was that you could see the Hotel was once built by great European craftsmen... But sadly the City of Wilmington has destroyed what was once great. Let them eat cake...Joe Biden mafia should be ashamed of what he did to Wilmington. A once great place.

Three of us did the Christmas fixed price menu and let me just say: our dogs had quite the feast. Ambiance and service were wonderful!! But for $75 a person you’d hope to also rave about the food (and not leave hungry). For appetizers we had the onion soup, a dry salad, and a raw egg that cost an additional $15. The onion soup was by far the crowd favorite, albeit too salty. For entrees we had the salty duck, salty chicken, and branzino. The branzino was served skin side up on a bed of crunchy rice. At this point morale was as low as our water, but we held out hope for our last course. For dessert we had the pumpkin mousse, buche de noel, and lemon gelato ice cream sandwich. If you like sugar free pumpkin flavored ricotta, do I have good news for you! Buche was “good” and lemon gelato was delicious, especially by comparison. With that said $245, before tip, is a lot of money for a mid, arguably inedible, meal. And for extra measure: the duck/mousse diner has been in the bathroom since. My advice is either don’t save your appetite or save your money.

Very nice experience! We came here during the Christmas Eve afternoon. An iconic hotel and this restaurant as a part of it.A very rich history of this hotel, which was built in 1913, a lot of celebraties were here.I've heard that Grace Kelly was proposed in this hotel. The food was great, service as well (Jacky), and the guy at the front desk (Jack) left a very nice impression.Music was not loud, clean space, superb restrooms. There is a beutiful atmosphere and ambient at Le Cavalier. We will come back!
