Came here today and apparently closed, no sign, no voicemail set up. No nothing. Drove here for nothing
If you've been on a tireless hunt for the perfect flat white in the area, this is the right place.

Disappointed by a place I used to enjoy
I’ve visited Kaffeina several times in the past and always appreciated the friendly service and cozy atmosphere. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was a letdown—and enough to make me reconsider ever returning.
I stopped in hoping for a coffee and a slice of chocolate cake, which was clearly labeled at $6 in the display case. When I went to pay, the employee rang it up at $7. I pointed out the discrepancy, expecting the posted price to be honored. Instead, I was told the price had gone up “yesterday.” I mentioned that I’d rather use that extra dollar to leave a larger tip, but was told flatly that adjusting the price wasn’t possible.
To make matters worse, the employee consulted with another staff member who was on his phone in the back. That person barely looked up, confirmed the price hike, and walked away without any interest in resolving the issue or even acknowledging the concern.
I left without making a purchase. I don’t support businesses that fail to honor their listed prices or show basic courtesy when a customer raises a valid point. It’s a shame—Kaffeina used to be a reliable favorite. Sadly, I won’t be returning.

Quiche was amazing! Big, but light and fluffy packed with veggies. Had a great buttery flavor and was just overall delicious. I liked the side salad with it. My friends beet salad was huge, so many pecans and cranberries. The staff were really nice and friendly. The watermelon matcha didn’t look like the picture on the menu and was way too sweet. I realized it’s just watermelon syrup in matcha iced tea.

I was with a group for Afternoon Tea. It was way too casual for Afternoon Tea, which is more formal than High Tea, which is taken with the evening meal. Scones were tiny and dry. No butter or clotted cream was served. Finger Sandwiches were good, except for the salmon. For the cost of the salmon, which could have been eliminated, an egg salad sandwich and an individual pot of tea would have been better since a lot of the salmon sandwiches were left unbeaten. Yes, we had to share a teapot of tea and only 4 ot 5 teas, blends, and herbals were offered. Most of those were at the boring end of the tea spectrum.
In my opinion, I believe the owners and 'cooks shouldku educate themselves on what the latest trends are for taking Afternoon and High Tea. They are in for a surprise at how far they missed the mark for Aftertea.

When we arrived and ordered, the cafe was completely empty. Half of our small party got their cooked food in 5 minutes. After 15 minutes, Kevin came and told me that they didn’t have the quiche that I ordered, and asked if I wanted something else. After 25 minutes, when half of our group’s food was long gone, I asked if the rest would be ready soon, and was told by Kevin that it had not been started yet because they had received some DoorDash orders that they were doing first. We had to cancel the order and leave so that we could get some food for our kids. Disappointing experience. They were not even busy. Why were only half of us served?
We also saw another group who had ordered after us at the counter getting their food as we left. I would not come here again, especially with hungry kids. Kevin was brusque and unapologetic, which didn’t help.

My family and I love walking to Kaffeina for coffee and cake. The staff is always so friendly. Plus the menu changes with seasons, which is fun.
Depending on the weather, you can either sit inside the nicely decorated cafe or at a table overlooking the sculpture garden.

I came into town for a work meeting at Kaffeina and was blown away by each aspect of my experience. The food was phenomenal and served quickly. I had the curry chicken salad sandwich on a croissant. It was fantastic and the croissant was the perfect level of crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The staff was kind and upbeat. The atmosphere was welcoming and productive. All around 11/10! I'll definitely be back for more work meetings.

Delicious and beautiful food, charmingly presented with attention to detail. Fresh, but not trendy versions of classic afternoon tea fare, for example an open-faced Caprese sandwich with a thin layer of a lively red pepper jam. The food was delicate in appearance but added up to a hearty meal. Totally delightful, and I have often been disappointed with afternoon teas. I love them when they are done right, and this one was perfect. Can’t wait to go again!
