I have to say the customer service at this restaurant is phenomenal. I ordered takeout and when I got my order, it was wrong. When I called to let them know, not only were they apologetic
But they gave me a gift card to make up for the inconvenience! Both people that I spoke to were very courteous and professional.I haven't had that customer service in a very, very long time.

Mexican Post has been my go to Mexican restaurant for 20 years. Before I retired I ate lunch every Monday at MP.
Through rainy downpours, snow storms, and Covid, MP alway had excellent service and food. Tony has always been professional, helpful, kind, and funny.
All of the staff at MP have been congenial and efficient in providing a pleasant restaurant experience.

I found out about Mexican Post via the Delta Skymiles Dining app when trying to find places that weren't chain restaurants and offered some variety of local eats. I ended up going the first time on a Saturday evening when I just couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to eat.
Mexican Post has a pretty good atmosphere. Not hardline authentic Mexican but definitely a good Tex-Mex type atmosphere to me. The menu generally reflects more of a Tex-Mex selection as well. Even then the decor and furniture was very tasteful and the bar area was very cozy and felt more like a neighborhood bar. Overall the service I've had was very good each time I visited. The servers were attentive with my questions as well as keeping my drinks filled. If they keep that consistent I would say that they have been some of the best service I've had in the area.
As mentioned, the menu has more a Tex-Mex focus. They also have a focus on different types of tequila as well with a pretty good selection of them from what I've seen. The first time I was there, I had a chimichanga and an order of their queso. First as a quick note, yes the chips and salsa they serve is a bit smaller per helping, but as for someone like me who is usually eating solo, this is about the right helping size. The queso was pretty good and also a nice generous helping. The chimichanga had a nice crisp tortilla and the beef was very flavorful. My only gripe would be I wanted more of it (especially for the price). On subsequent visits though, I ended up ordering a chicken taco and a California burrito. I enjoy their chicken tacos; the meat is nice and moist and has a good flavor to it and their tacos are generously stuffed with goodies. The California burrito though...is more like a Texas burrito to me (there's no rice inside the burrito compared with the typical Cali-style burrito). Doesn't mean it wasn't good because I very much enjoyed that burrito as well. The meat was nice and juicy and the beans and rice on the side were also very good as well.
If you're looking for a neighborhood Mexican restaurant that has a some good food and a nice neighborhood atmosphere, I would definitely visit Mexican Post.

We lived down the street from here for years and went regularly. Food was good and service was great. Tino and Sharon always took care of you and the bartenders were awesome. In the last year things have shifted. Service is off and they’re always telling you how they’re short staffed.

Tonight was the worst and I am heartbroken when I say I don’t think we can return. We walked in about 6 pm. Bar was kind of busy only one table of 2 was seated in dining room. The hostess asked us if we minded a high top to which I said I’d rather have a table. She sat us in the empty dining room where we proceeded to sit for 20 minutes without anyone acknowledging us or saying they’d be with us shortly even though plenty of staff walked by. I think the manager,Tony, who has always had a bit of an attitude was actually serving. We finally asked the hostess if we had a server. She politely stated they were short staffed at which time Tony turned around and rudely told us he was short staffed. He then proceeded to state it was our fault because we asked to sit in the dining room. We didn’t ask to sit there! We were asked if we wanted a high top and we answered. There are regular tables in the bar. We walked out. But the only reason I can think of for a restaurant that has been successful for years and has good food and prices to be consistently short staffed would be that leadership sucks! It makes me sad.

We love the Post and have been going there for 20 years. It’s consistently good food and great drinks and service. We’re at home there and the owner cares about customers and his staff. I’m sad to read a review that said it’s an affront to Mexican cuisine, I would rather go to the Post than any other in the area, please don’t believe that review!

I used to frequent the post many years ago and truly enjoyed it. My last trip there with my buddy was the worst ever we got there. It wasn't during the rush. There was no line. No wait. We were handed menus told to go find a c. We sat there for 25 minutes without service. All the while we saw the so-called waiter knowing about chatting with the young ladies and we got tired of waiting so we got up to leave. Just as we went past the bar you saw our so-called waiter with our chips and salsa In his hand. I said if they're for us you can keep them. We're leaving and the bartender who he was chatting up. Said So sorry to see you leave, Goodbye! Needless to say we'll never be going back!
