I am writing this review in hopes of receiving a response. My husband and I call in regularly to collect our favorite dishes, which is the beef lasagna and the lobster mac and cheese. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere pleasant. We think it is important to support the local economy and Toscana's has served the local community successfully for many years. There is one point of constructive feedback that we would like to offer. As a take-out item, the gelato I believe is not served authentically. Toscana's appears to be serving gelato as if it is the same as ice cream. An ice cream scooper is being used instead of a specific gelato utensil. This impacts the serving amount and the way it is presented.

Pork was overcooked and average at best. Nobody at the table had a memorable meal, especially for the prices.

A lovely Italian restaurant bordering Trolley Square. The service is immaculate as the servers are very attentive and provide anything you need. The food was tremendous and the the drinks were good, although I’d suggest broadening the beer on draught considering draught beer pairs so well with the menu items. We were a larger party so we requested they leave pitchers of water on the table so we wouldn’t have to bother the waitress for water so often, but apparently the owner has a policy of no visible pitchers because it’s a “poor aesthetic.” Anyway we saw plenty of pitchers placed just feet away on a surface way more visible than our dining table.Parking: Shares a parking lot with a few other businesses so spots close to the restaurant are hard to find sometimes.

I made reservations for this establishment on Valentine’s Day. The environment was romantic with nice music, scenery, and decor. The staff was friendly and professional. I was extremely disappointed that I was not able to have the menu item LINGUINE DI MARE. For this to be an Italian restaurant, there were not many fettuccine, linguine, and white sauce options on the menu. I would have been better off going to the Olive Garden for the type of food I had a craving for.

We had a wonderful experience at Piccolina Toscana on a Wednesday night recently. We wanted to show our friends an especially good dining experience, and Toscana did not disappoint. We were greeted by name at the front desk, quickly seated, and made to feel like special guests. Doug, our server was knowledgable, efficient, and nearby when we needed him. The special on bottles of wine was the perfect surprise. We ordered Pizzettes and the Avocado toast to share, and three entrees. Every dish was one we would recommend. We didn't want the night to end, so we shared gelatos for dessert. What a treat.

We were next to a couple of big parties that were loud. Baked eggplant had no cheese to speak of, Scallops, Bolognese and short eibs were excellent. Carpaccio needed a little more seasoning. Server was very good.

Had Valentine's Day dinner here. The food was delicious, when we finally got it, and that's the reason so many stars were knocked off. Look - I get it, it's one of, if not THE busiest night of the year. The kitchen lost our entree order and it took over an hour to correct it - and that was only because I asked someone. Again, I get it. But aside from an explanation from our server, after I had to flag him down, that was it. I'm disappointed that our appetizer or drinks weren't taken off the bill or that we weren't given a small discount, or a free dessert to take home. Something that said "we screwed up, sorry about that, please come back and try us again when we aren't slammed like this." Overall though it was still a pleasant evening. Still, I'm taking 2 stars off for the massive delay, and having to ask about it first.

We have been there numerous times and always a good meal.. This time they forgot to make my friends dinner then rushed to make and the scallops were not cooked. My dinner was very garlicky.. The service / waitress was excellent & the restaurant is very nice.. We will go back again..

I had read a News Journal article about Italian restaurants in Delaware and chose Piccolina Toscana for our Valentine's Day dinner. It was our first time at this restaurant. Even though Chicken Parmesan was not on the menu, the chef agreed to prepare it for my husband. I had scallops. Both meals were delicious! Our disappointment was the dessert. We had ordered an apple cobbler with vanilla gelato. It was not very good. There was a puff pastry beside a few chunks of apple mixed with some kind of crunchy topping. The pastry had no filling and was hard to cut. It definitely left us feeling disappointed but did not ruin our overall experience.

I loved everything about Piccolina Toscana - this is the best Italian I've had in Delaware. Service was very good, and I really liked the restaurant itself - nice lighting, not too dim, not too bright, it was open enough so it didn't feel crowded, and even as it filled up with the Friday night dinner crowd, the noise was not overwhelming. The *one* annoyance was that the slapped us with a 20% “large party” service charge. Large party? It was six of us. That is hardy a large party, and I'm a good tipper anyway. That last bit definitely left me a bit sour after what had been a really nice dinner.

Nice dinner and very good food. Avacado appetizer was so so. My friend had a noodle land on her from a nearby child but not the restaurant's fault. Tables a bit close. Nice Atmosphere. Excellent service.

We had a wonderful dinner at Piccolina Toscana. We just moved to Delaware and were glad to find a restaurant with great Italian options. The pasta was fresh, the food was hot, and the portion sizes were great! We will definitely be returning.

Absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere gives you the feeling of being in Tuscany. From the beautiful carefully placed art pieces to the soft yet bright lights. The food is mouth watering good. Their calamari fritti is so damn good. Yes I said it. The food is so good. Trust me just go your tongue will thank you. Oh and shout out to Krissy our waitress with all the energy in the world. She was able to pivot through on the spot changes and updating customers. She's awesome oh and ask her for recommendations of the menu, she got you.

A delicious dinner and interesting menu. Wait staff exemplary. Always enjoy our dining experience. Noise and music from the attached bar was very distracting. The re-decoration of the space has left the acoustics lacking and is not attractive.
