Our book club (nearly 40 members) hosted an event here, and unfortunately, it was the worst service experience we’ve had in over a year of organizing monthly events in Delaware.
• It took over an hour just to receive drinks.
• Many members had to order food online because service was so delayed.
• Our group of 40 was assigned just one server, which was nowhere near enough.
• We then waited an additional 1.5 hours for checks, with members having to go to the bar themselves to try to pay.
• I had arranged book-themed cocktails weeks in advance and kept the venue updated, yet the menus were never printed or prepared, despite multiple confirmations.
• Throughout the night, we asked the manager multiple times for help and sent complaints, but received no response or support. Meanwhile, bartenders stood by watching the chaos unfold instead of assisting.

This level of disorganization and lack of preparedness was extremely disappointing, especially for a large group that came ready to support the business. Honestly, I would have preferred to be told upfront that they could not accommodate us rather than go through such a negative experience.

We had hoped to leave a glowing review and establish a long-term relationship with this venue, but based on this experience, we cannot recommend it.

This was a planned outing for my sister in laws wedding rehearsal dinner. After all day preparing for her wedding tomorrow we had been planning to check out this great place we keep hearing about. Our dinner was great the bar service was completely unprofessional and honestly I wouldn’t recommend. The bartender tonight was completely rude beyond her part! My sister in law an I stood about 8 minutes waiting the bartender a bigger female dark hair continued her personal conversation with a male at the counter and just let us stand waiting to even see what we wanted from the bar. The moment my husband walked up at the other end of the counter she went right to his service, leaving us waiting even though we had been there quite sometime at this point. I’m confused is she a bar maid or a stripper? Seems upper class and being in restaurant management nearly my whole life I kind of chuckled. Definitely will not be going back for drinks. Obviously it was male attention she was seeking not even realizing I was the one with the money for all of our drinks even my husband’s 😉. Other than that the food was superb the server I did ask her name “Kaitlyn” she was so friendly and kept us entertained on such a stressful night. I would recommend for food but not the bar. After complaining over the wait and what I saw with the male female thing we will not be going back for drinks but definitely food.!!

Nice place, the service was the worst. To top it off, they charged me a 13 dollar service to order drinks at the bar. Never heard of! Crooks!

A friend and I went to opulence on a Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The doors were locked. My friend called to verify whether or not the restaurant was open we were told yes that it's open no one ever came to unlock the door no one ever directed us to where to go to get in and as we were leaving we did see a man coming out the side door taking food to would look like a car for delivery once we left there we went to Applebee's and I looked them up again online and it stated something about the fact that they do delivery from 12:00 to 3:00 I'm not quite sure what that's about but I couldn't really rate this place because we didn't actually have the opportunity to go in and sit down and eat but I do know that it is open in the evenings so maybe you might want to try it for yourself.

This place is absolutely amazing and the food is scrumptious and very satisfying. Now the server was the best her name is Ashli and you have to request her. She goes above and beyond. She's adorable too 🤩

Love this place always come for appetizers and drinks. Food was really good, my server was Kaitlyn she was soo sweet, really take care of us. I always get the meat sampler app w lamb , chicken and shrimp and crab cake sliders

I came to this restaurant on Sunday to celebrate a dear friend's birthday. Our hostess was Ms. Bunny, who made the event extra special. She was very welcoming, professional, and full of positive energy. The food was tasty, and the atmosphere was great with positive relaxing vibes. I will definitely return for some of the other events offer at this establishment! Thank you Ms. Bunny for your excellent service!

I picked up food from here. It was ready quickly, but there were no utensils or napkins in the bag, so I had no spoon to eat the soup with. The food tasted good though.

Bunny and Rah are two of the best servers in the Tri-State area. If you love A-1 service, excellent customer service, couple that with great drinks and food, The Opulent is the place to be. Tuesday thru Sunday. I will be back.
